2026 NFL Cuts/Signings/Trades/FA Thread

I would never, ever, EVER pay a guy like that top WR money.

He's often hurt and is not consistent as a result.

This fucks the market big time

There must be a ridiculously low amount of guaranteed money in the deal, so they're basically giving the guy a carrot and if he plays to it, great, if not they cut him in a year or two.

At least that's what I assume, maybe they're just morons.

It’s strange because how they are assembling his team.

Let me rephrase that, if he’s fine with Rodgers playing one year and the team maybe being a last wildcard but just as probably not making the playoffs, then it’s not strange.

For me, it’s not hard to imagine this year they miss the playoffs. Rodgers then finally retires. They draft a young qb, miss the playoffs again. Watt retires or is traded or released. (I don’t know their financial situation)

Maybe at this point, the Steelers want a new direction for the team and their qb.

McCarthy is a good coach, it just seems like the timing is bad for him. Maybe “strange” was the wrong word, but I just see McCarthy as a better fit with a team that isn’t about to undergo a lot of change.

I think you're misreading the situation. McCarthy plus a good defense is usually a contender.

Beyond this year who knows because they'll have to figure out the QB position, but even then that's McCarthy's wheelhouse. Maybe Allar is the guy or it'll be someone else, but that would be a problem for any coach.

Yeah, I bet there's a lot of funny money in those initial numbers.

That's a good point, he might actually thrive teaching a young quarterback.
