2026 NFL Cuts/Signings/Trades/FA Thread

I think that was the joke. Dude had 30 catches for 300whatever yards last year.
God damn, I need more sleep. I will take multiple laps for that one. That is embarrassing.

As many laps as you've imposed on yourself this past month or so, you probably look like Usain Bolt right now.

Oh wait. Not him.

Richard Simmons
I know. I need to get my shit together.

That's exceedingly strange.

I don't know what Pittsburgh is doing. Weird coaching hire, a QB on his last last legs, the Herbig contract I kinda get, this TE..ehhh, Did A-Aron throw out any more receiver names he would be comfortable with yet? Because that will happen too. It feels like McCarthy might not last 2 seasons. (Maybe he's a stop gap until they get a young qb in a year or two?)

Why was the coaching hire strange? He was one of the best coaches available and he's from the area and it's his dream job.

Pittsburgh must feel at least somewhat foolish for trading away an elite WR for a 3rd round pick, especially with WR being a top position of immense need for them. You know their fans are bitter.

They are prolly not-so-secretly praying for a Pickens meltdown.

But end of the day, 95% of NFL WR personality conflicts come from not having a QB or OC that can't get them the fricking football. The remaining 5% are a bit touched like Antonio Brown.

I'm not saying all great WR's are like that, some are more patient than others. WR's at this level are ultra-competitive with a deep need to impose their will on a game, and an explosive athlete like Pickens must have felt like he was wearing manacles with how conservative Pittsburgh had become.

It's such a common phenomenon, but Pittsburgh still doesn't seem to get it.

Thats an insult to CD and JJ. Hell Pickens should get 45 now based off of this.

Wait, the guy who has never had more than 600 yards and change in a season is getting 27-28 mil a season? I feel like I'm missing something here. Do teams need to spend just for the sake of spending or something? Like Watson is a nice big play receiver but that's just straight up insane. I feel like it's an April Fools joke or something.

I would never, ever, EVER pay a guy like that top WR money.

He's often hurt and is not consistent as a result.

This fucks the market big time

It’s strange because how they are assembling his team.

Let me rephrase that, if he’s fine with Rodgers playing one year and the team maybe being a last wildcard but just as probably not making the playoffs, then it’s not strange.

For me, it’s not hard to imagine this year they miss the playoffs. Rodgers then finally retires. They draft a young qb, miss the playoffs again. Watt retires or is traded or released. (I don’t know their financial situation)

Maybe at this point, the Steelers want a new direction for the team and their qb.

McCarthy is a good coach, it just seems like the timing is bad for him. Maybe “strange” was the wrong word, but I just see McCarthy as a better fit with a team that isn’t about to undergo a lot of change.
