2026 Draft Week Chatter Thread...

I think they want a guy who can play LT but then be a swing if necessary. Could be because they aren't thrilled with Guyton. Could be because Guyton has gotten hurt both years of his career up to this point. Either way I think the hope is for LT and then potential to play right as the swing backup.

Me personally, I hope Nate Thomas continues to improve because I like guys with more power. He was what a seventh round pick in his second year last season? I don't think it's crazy to hope he continues to develop. I think he made massive improvement from year one to year two. I just hope he continues that into year three. I don't think he was any worse than Steele last year, but that's not saying too much.
Thomas was clearly not ready to be 'the guy' when he finally started games. He might have to cook for a while, despite those flashes he definitely showed.

I'm really concerned about Guyton at LT. He has to make a Landry leap in his third year soonish. I'd be ready to pull the trigger and make a switch with Smith.

All we had to do was resign Chuma.

Yeah he looked good when he came in for injuries. But then when they sort of made him "the guy" the shine wore off and he had some legit struggles. My hope is that some of that was a guy who suddenly had the pressure of being "the guy" and just needed more time to be comfortable in that role. I do think another offseason could have him playing better than Steele. I think it was already neck and neck last season. Not sure if they will give him the chance to beat Steele out this year but I hope so.

This has to be one of the gayest gifs ever posted on this board.

Did anyone watch the entire show? I was gone all day and recorded it, but if these clips are pretty much all the good parts, I won't bother right now.

Fascinating, I think 12/20 and a 5 for 9/24 is pretty fair in general, although it depends on what the team at 9 is looking for. If the team at 9 was Miami or Arizona I could've easily seen them doing it, but Cleveland loved Fano and probably had a pretty big gap between him and any other OT because he was one of the only top tier OT's who actually has the athleticism for LT.

Pretty obvious that Downs was the target though, and I bet they were worried about the Giants at 10. If Downs had went earlier and Styles was there I assume they would've offered something similar.

The whole show is awesome.

It actually makes Goof look like he has a clue.

But the fucking amount of face time that nepo fuck Spaulding has is insane.

I don't think Stephen is dumb or clueless, in fact I think he's very pragmatic in general.

The issue is he's cheap as fuck in FA and either 1. obtusely believes you can build an elite team purely through the draft, or 2. is happy just being good without having to overextend out of their comfort zone (either financially or philosophically) in FA to become elite.

They've gotten a bit more aggressive in their own weird way though over the last few years, so public shaming may work on him to an extent.

Well you and I disagree.

I have never seen Goof be in command of the room like that before.

He told people to shush.
