I loved Baun coming out to the point that I thought he should've been a late 1/early 2 type. He's a really niche player though that has to be used in a particular way and the Saints weren't really sure what to do with him.

He goes to Philly and becomes a DPoY candidate playing that sort of hybrid role that fit him coming out, mostly an off-ball LB but one who moves around, stacks the LOS at times almost as a 3-4 OLB, and blitzes often. Sort of the role I had in mind for Parsons when we took him.

Barham fits that role well but the coaches have to have a specific vision in mind to make it come to life, with Parker I'm not worried about that since he saw exactly how Baun was used in Philly.

I think that ship has sailed.

I'm assuming Miami was asking too much for him. Fair enough, but enjoy holding the bag on a player in the last year of his deal who will be pushing 30 and want a new contract as you rebuild.

Yeah I think it has as well. I don't think they are trading for 2 LBers. I don't think we like Texas Tech players here. Maybe we will take that special teams safety in the seventh to make the Homer's happy.

This is also true. I don't know that the Dolphins ever wanted to trade him. And I have no idea what they would actually want in return. Could be we called and they told us they aren't parting with him for anything short of a second round pick.

Conversation over, everyone moved on. Except Cowboys fans who heard that we had interest.
