2026 Draft Week Chatter Thread...

At this point I would think hard about McCoy. Almost got timestamped about Cooper. Quick aside, what made all those jackasses burst into laughter? I feel bad for the kid.

Is it true we liked Sarratt? That's what Sturm said last night. But he's also the one who claimed Brugler said Barham was more tweener than versatile.

Still think we go offense soon because that's kind of how Jerry rolls. But I think we at least need more depth at DL. Didn't we show some interest in Barrett? Is a guy like Halten useful in this defense or is he too much like Osa?

D+ on Barham? Why? Seems ridiculous.

Edit, it's too early for this shit, Cotton

Can't be drafting the same position back to back. So if you think of Barham as a pass rusher they already hate that.

I don't think of him as a 3-4 OLBer though. Clearly the plan is more the role Baun played with Philly. Which the athletic profile fits pretty well. Not sure on the instincts side of things.

Baun- 6'2" 238 - 4.65 forty with a crazy good 1.54 10 yard split. Sort of a tweener in terms of pass rusher with LBer size.

Barham 6'3" 240 - 4 64 forty with a great 1.61 10 yard split. Sort of a tweener in terms of pass rusher with LBer size.

Older guy now but maybe think Kyle Van Noy who has played both inside and outside LBer. He too came to the NFL as a 6'3" 243 pound tweener.

I tried a different simulator and the Dolphins rejected the trade.

Not useless, I just wouldn't have given up a fifth round pick for him. I think you could have signed better guys in free agency and actually used the draft pick. JAG is something that is readily available in free agency. But his rookie contract price and only one year of commitment was too enticing.

We definitely could've signed better guys in FA but that ship obviously sailed.

I said yesterday before we picked Barham that they're probably thinking Winters is a fine stopgap and if we draft someone who ends up better you don't have any heartburn sitting him because you didn't give up much.

I could see Barham potentially supplanting him in a timeshare sometime next year, and if not Winters is at least mostly capable of starting.

Side note... watching the Lawrence pc, I really like him. Humble, almost kind of a wide-eyed country kid. Very polite and respectful. Opposite of some overly cocky a-hole. Might not even realize how good he can get yet.

I guess you never know, but I'd be surprised if he were anything but a hardworking, trouble-free kid.

The HC literally said he'd be tried at ILB first so anybody knocking the pick for being another edge (which is also nonsense) is talking out of their ass.

Barham was universally looked at as a late 2/3 type so he's definitely not anything close to a reach at 92 either.

Yeah, I had hopes for more of a traditional LBer who can be a tackling machine but I've got no problem with Barham at ILBer where his physicality is going to be up there with any LBer from this draft.

Personally I'd still follow up with a LBer today that is more your traditional tackling machine but so many good options out there for this round.
