Does anyone else purchase Phil Steele's magazines? That thing is $25 this year.

This was the first and last time I'm spending that much for one of his mags.

I remember when I first started buying his mags in the late 2000s they were only $5.

I stopped buying them about five years ago. It is mostly useless info now with the internet unless you wanted to read them on the throne.

This is this year's Lee Hunter, btw.

Did Hunter receive similar accolades? Seems like it would be kind of hard with Bailey taking a lot of the spotlight.
Yes.

Half their wins were by shutout.
A great example of a system being coached to perfection.

Bud Wilkinson's system plus a style of coaching players with an emphasis on conditioning was more responsible for the outcome than the players themselves.

Those defenses produced some notable NFL defenders, but nowhere near any Hall of Famers. Jerry Tubbs was one of them, and he was so miscast by his first teams he was exposed on the 1960 expansion draft and became an original Dallas Cowboy and its first MLB.

He played through 1967 with Landry luring him back out of retirement twice, and then coached LB's for 22 years, retiring in 1988.

Bud was the father of the 3-4.
