I don’t know that I’ve ever seen zone defense played that fluidly. No one was really ever out of position. The one deep middle throw that drake hit, he had to drop it in between like 5 seahawks. Also seattle was masterful at playing any flat stuff in front of them. They just don’t leave a lot of open field to take advantage of. I was impressed.

The Ravens defense against the VaGiants was another great performance.

The Ravens or the 85 Bears are definitely 1 and 1a to me.

That's the type of defense Parker is going to try to build here, it's similar to how Philly plays under Fangio.

Yep. Any mention of a SB in Dallas is just wasted breath. Look at Lawrence who now has a SB because the Seattle GM knew how to put the right pieces in place to win. He made some really nice plays last night for Seattle despite being categorized as on his last legs.

I’m not a huge Dak fan but I know he’s better than Darnold. Yet Dak will never win a SB in Dallas because the Jones family doesn’t know shit about building a championship roster and staying in the background while real football guys do what needs to be done.

It’s sad.

Saying it like this it's easy to think they got worse. But in reality, Wilson is washed and Geno is bad. Say what you will about Darnold, but he was an improvement over those guys. And Njigba was/is their WR1. Metcalf was a pretty clear 2 before they traded him away. He hasn't had WR1 numbers for quite awhile. And the rest of their offense is pretty solid to go along with their defense.

Williams has always been a good player but he's "putting it together" at 30+ because he's playing under the defensive McVay.

Had he arrived a decade later, he might have ended up in the HOF conversation bs being the tweener, run stopper outmatched vs OT’s as an edge rusher for much of his career.

They were trying to get more Hispanic households to watch the Superbowl. In the process a lot of non Hispanic households didn't watch it. What is funny to me are the white Liberal Females with the forced "it was amazing" Those same people didn't understand a word and never listened to Bad Bunny before and will never listen to him again. But the whole thing has become a political battle. Instead of what it really is, the NFL caring more about expansion than their current fan base.

I certainly don’t have the time to deeply research it, but from the outside looking in Seattle bumped around a few years with a few core guys and when that core didn’t get it done, there wasn’t a lot of hesitation to jettison off players to improve the team. Guys were traded and drafted, but really good role players were signed in FA too.

I think that’s the real missing piece in Dallas. Underperforming players are kept and usually overvalued, while difference makers or really good role players are shunned because of Jerry’s obsession with cap space. And while our drafts have been ok, I wouldn’t call them great.

Talent wise, I don’t think we are far off. Seattle just proved you can pull a QB off the scrap heap and coach him into limiting mistakes. They have 1 superstar at WR. They had 2 really good RBs, yet had to use arguably their weakest RB to get to the SB due to injuries.

There’s a blueprint for tearing down a team and getting to a SB multiple times in a reasonable timeframe….Philly, Rams, Seattle, Patriots, Niners have all done it now using the same cap as everyone else. Jerry has no defense for sitting on cap space or using it as an excuse for not signing guys.

I’d dare to say talent wise, we match up well with every team I listed outside of a few positions.
We just don’t have the FO that will address those weaknesses we do have in FA, nor do we use the later rounds of the draft to find real difference makers who don’t eat up our cap space.

I thought he looked really good in the games I watched, but it’s not like I watched every game.

I also wonder why these guys who leave Dallas always throw shade back about the culture and guys playing for the logo on the helmet vs playing for a championship.

Why didn’t Lawrence step up as a leader and DRIVE everyone to play for a championship?
Or does Dallas simply draft too many guys who aren’t leaders?
There’s definitely something wrong with the culture and system there in Dallas. Too many guys who left chattering about the differences in how the organizations operate.

GMs on all those teams you mentioned are working for their lives.

The culture here is too toxic because of the idiocy that emanates from Jerry. I think it's possible that it can change a bit once he's gone because Stephen is more straight laced and surely doesn't have 1/100th the showman in him that Jerry does, but as long as the team is "family run" there will always be gaps.

As far as Lawrence, I think he might've gotten fed up with whatever was going on with Parsons/Diggs and the amount of leash they were given under McCarthy.

Been thinking it for a while, haven't seen it mentioned lately... but more and more I'm thinking that Simp is right and Goof Son might deserve more grace than we've given him.

He might still not be a good GM. I'm not saying he will be. But to me there's little doubt anymore that Jerry re-asserted himself a year and a half ago at that 2024 preseason PC and it's all been downhill since then. Stephen has not seemed on board with deddy's actions lately. He got visibly annoyed with Jerry's repeatedly calling Micah "Michael" and even corrected him on stage. He talks even less than he used to on his 105.3 shows - I don't think he even likes doing them, and probably only does because Jerry insists on it.

Tldr, by no means am I saying Stephen is some savior, but I'm not holding him very responsible at all for the crap we've seen the last two seasons and we might be a decently run team when he really takes over.
