2025 Cowboys Preseason Week 2 Gameday Chatter Thread | Ravens @ Cowboys | 08/16/2025

Maybe I'm being petty. But the way Dak and Cee Dee were clowning around on the sidelines during this disaster didn't sit well with me. Lamb with his shades and Dak laughing, like they're defending SB champs. Jimmy Johnson would've sent both of them to the locker room and tore their asses up after the game

Jesus. It's preseason and he's playing with a bunch of schlubs. At least give him until week 2. :lol

Nothing happening right now means much of anything.

If someone wants to say they never should've hired Schottenheimer in the first place and they're seeing red flags, sure, I could see that. I think it's soft to not have Dak or any of the key starters play even a single drive, but we also won 12 games three years in a row doing that.

Schlubs is the correct term, except maybe our kicker

Not impressed with Booker, but I guess I’ve been spoiled by a HOF player in Martin

The NFL got better as a whole at running back AND at stopping the run at DT with this draft. It is stunning that we with enormous need at both positions took none until the 5th and later rounds.

What a complete clown show.

We deserve to get upended by Philly on National TV 59-0.

And @Simpleton I thought the same thing about Hoffman. With Bass the clear #2 at LG and working so much at center, I wonder if Shatner's boy is in trouble. He does seem to me fairly undersized these days. Scrappy attitudes, etc. only get you so far.

I think you're going to really enjoy it when we have two sub-300 lb. DT's playing the majority of the snaps in Osa and Thomas.

Yea I can't tell if playing Bass there is with the idea of getting rid of Hoffman, or if they're confident in Hoffman and this is them giving Bass a last chance to make the roster by showing increased versatility.

Either way I think one of them might be gone.

Nobody in that game really jumped out at me on either side of the ball except Demone Clark. As said by multiple folks in here.. the 2 glaring needs were completely ignored in the offseason at DT and RB and it showed in that game..

Cowboys offense: 176 total yds , 2 turnovers and a measly 7 first downs .. we ran the ball for 51yds combined with only 8yds being are long run . Milton was horrendous… forcing the ball into tight coverage and showing no touch at all except for the 49 yarder to Mingo.

Cowboys defense: gave up almost 400yds of total offense ..a whopping 26 first downs ..but had 2 takeaways including the pick 6 by Booth. They ran for almost 150yds as a team. Run defense once again was exceptionally bad which allowed the Ravens to possess the ball for 40 out of the 60 minutes.

I mean I don’t know why most of the starters didn’t see at least a quarter of action.. we only have 1 more preseason game left before we open up in Philly . I get all the hush hush by schotty not wanting to show much. But for fuck sake you haven’t showed anything at all!!! I’m not hitting the panic button yet but if we lay an egg in the opener .. the writing will be on the wall .

We don't play starters in preseason because they could get injured don'cha know.

Don't worry, no matter what we do week one is a loss, so it will be like an "extra" preseason game where we test our starters (heheheheh, super planning from someone with the brains to be both owner AND GM--- socks to jocks, folks, socks to jocks!).

We may as well get used to Dak slinging it 40+ times per game unless some RB steps up.
Given the number of quality backs that just entered the league, the math says there will be higher quality FA's who could serve in a pinch that would likely start on Dallas.

Honestly our best option besides Williams might be Hunter Leupke. Blue is brittle, Mafah looks a tad stiff, Vaughn can't block, and Sanders couldn't run through a wall of paper.

This RB corps is looking a lot like 1989 with castoff Boo Boo Palmer and Moose getting lots of carries.

But would they even pick them up? The Jones boys hate to admit mistakes and always love our guys.
