Random thought, but I think people need to start laying off Mazi a little bit. He's still trending towards a disappointment as far as being a 1st rounder, but I don't think you can call him a bust at this point, and if he was a 2nd or 3rd round pick I think we'd all be feeling pretty good about him moving forward.

The overall numbers are skewed because of how bad the defense was over the first half of the year and some of the rushing yards given up to QB's, but the traditional run defense has been very solid over the last two months and Mazi has been the primary guy doing the dirty work between the B gaps.

These have been the leading RB rushers since the Falcons game:

Bijan Robinson - 19/86/0 TD's (4.5 YPC)
Saquon Barkley - 14/66/0 TD's (4.7 YPC)
Joe Mixon - 20/109/3 TD's (5.5 YPC) - this was probably the worst performance although the numbers are slightly skewed by a big 45-yard TD on the opening drive
Austin Ekeler - 9/22/0 TD's (2.4 YPC)
Tyrone Tracy - 9/32/1 TD (3.6 YPC)
Chase Brown - 14/58/0 TD's (4.1 YPC)
Chuba Hubbard - 10/32/0 TD's (3.2 YPC)
Bucky Irving - 16/68/1 TD (4.3 YPC)
Saquon Barkley - 31/167/0 TD's (5.4 YPC) - this line is misleading based on how the 2nd half went with the game getting out of control and the Eagles stat padding in a 20+ point game, in the first half when it was competitive Barkley only had 13/40 (3 YPC)
Austin Ekeler - 3/12/0 TD's (4 YPC)

That's pretty damn decent when you consider that Barkley went for over 2,000, that Bijan is going to finish 3rd in the league in rushing, and that Bucky Irving and Chuba Hubbard were ripping off huge 100+ yard games both before and after our game and both will finish top 10 in the league in rushing.

Maybe but they're operating in the same spaces, usually standing up off the edge (but not often going directly heads up vs. OT's) and mixing it up a bit by dropping here and there. This is more or less exactly how Walker should be used with an emphasis on letting him rush from different alignments in passing situations.

They have lived the difference between just getting production from that position and fielding a star. If they ask themselves which player gets them closest to the Superbowl, it may well be Jeanty

I mean even we got 1000 yards from Rico Dowdle. Production doesn't mean a ton next to creating a favorable matchup all on your own.

If they draft Jeanty so be it. There are plenty of good RBs in this draft. I'm not at all worried about who they take.
 
C'mon Vikes. Score a TD here, then double up coming out of the half.
 
OMG. What an awful mistake to make. How in the fuck do you do that? Just blast it out of the endzone. Or at the very least, kick it as deep as you can and play coverage.

If we're living in fantasy land the trade I'd want to see is for Myles Garrett. There's rumblings he wants out, he's from Dallas, so on and so forth.

It'll never happen but I'd happily give up our 2026 1st for him and form what would could be the best edge rushing duo of all-time, at least for a few years.

But this FO would never have the balls for such a move in a million years.

He's been good in his specific role once Zimmer broke the defense out of their bad habits from Quinn's scheme, you can't deny it. He'll never be a Pro Bowler but he looks like a competent 2-down run-stuffing NT, which is lightyears beyond what he was last year.
