In '92, Irvin was holding out and signed the Wednesday before the season opener. Lamb's stalemate will probably be resolved the same way.

I think the deal is all but worked out. We are probably haggling over structure of the money from what I have heard. Some where in the slightly below 33 mil a year range.
I thought I read that the number of years was the issue, which makes sense because it was the same issue with Dak.
I agree with them that ideally for the team you want the contract to be longer, but you shouldn't dig yourself in for 18 months over the issue. At a certain point if a player is insisting on a certain number of years you just have to accept it.

The number of years should be an issue. This is what I read, as well.
It'll be more than 33/year, probably not much more than 34 but I'd be shocked if it was less than 33. Maybe if they do only a 3 year deal but no chance it'll be 4 and under 33/year.
Who the hell knows what Jerry’s thinking? The fourth round pick made him a roster lock. I just don't understand the end game. His contract is up after this season. So you develop him and let's say he becomes respectable enough to be the backup. Is he resigning? Or is he going somewhere with a chance to play?
And in no way in the world do I see us signing him instead of Dak. So ultimately what is the end game. Develop a guy you'll never use to sign somewhere else after the season?
You just put more thought into the situation with this post than Jerry did when he made the trade. The fourth round pick made him a roster lock. I just don't understand the end game. The window of time, since we acquired him, did not align with any feasible alternatives. Definitely something they should have thought about before coughing up a 4th because it will totally be a wasted pick.
I would have expected this from bbgun.
Just remember. He told you.
Can you people stop posting this invalid's drivel?
