So if things go well, they want Elliott with a 10 for 29 yard stat line and that is a success?

They need to do better at running the ball period.

But for the coach to say it and him to say it? That means that their design for him is to simply fill space in certain packages that are driven by score/situation and they also know he cannot make plays on a regular basis as a FT ball carrier.

I'll defer to John Park if 10/29 is a recipe for success.

Bringing back Zeke is just Jerry testing the water to anticipate the reaction of the fans when he brings back

:robowink

I don't think John Park is the guy who decided Zeke was still a legit NFL RB. But I could be wrong. My guess is that decision was a lot of Jerry.
Haven't you heard, everathang goes through the Asian department of Jerry World now.

Park even ran through analytic simulation after simulation to pinpoint the best moment for Jer to land in his helicopter during practice for maximum exposure.

Analytics can be useful but I think it all depends on how you interpret data. Like you may be able to say statistically we are most successful when we run curls with no one in motion. Could be true. But if you do that 60% of the plays on offense you're not going to be successful against good teams. The analytics didn't necessarily fail you, the way you interpreted the information is where the failure happened.

Or let's say analytics say you get the least return per cap dollar spent on a RB. Could very well be true. But that doesn't mean you don't need a RB. Just means that giving big money to aging RBs is bad. You're interpreting the data wrong.

But who knows maybe these guys are telling the coaches there is little difference between a 3.5 ypc and 5 ypc, all that matter is you run the ball. In which case I'd say there is something very flawed in the data.

I think YPC is a very flawed stat to begin with. Consistency is way more important for a RB.

Maybe if it's consistently good. But if it's consistently 3 ypc it's shit. Because even the most consistent RB isn't going to get his average on every carry.

I agree that consistency is important. And that YPC doesn't take into account consistency. But consistency by itself doesn't really mean much. Otherwise I'd say our RBs right now are actually very consistent. No big runs bumping up those YPC that's for sure.

I'd say consistently at least competent is implied there.

But what I'm saying is that a guy who gets 3 or 4 yards every time and ends up with 10/35 (3.5 YPC) is more valuable than a guy who gets 10/50 (5 YPC) but 8 of those runs were for 1 or 2 yards.

You want to look at Success %, too.

3 yards on 3rd and 2 is better than 7 yards on 3rd and 10

Shocking response.

The fucker could have just told our dumb fans the two number ones part. But please stop whining about the cap “problem”.
