Most QBs in their prime don't make it to free agency because they're tagged. Dak is less than a year away from a rare opportunity for a top 10'ish qb.Why would he be a fool? Most top QBs sign before their contract is up and don't actually hit the market.

You'd effectively be tanking the season, pissing off a lot of season ticket holders. It's probably too late for that. Every team at this point is pretty much set at QB. Even if a playoff worthy team lost their starter early on, they'd probably prefer to tank the season than fork over two firsts for Dak and pay him a king's ransom.I'd rather sacrifice a season and get multiple firsts for him.

All depends on the situation. If their QB situation is uncertain going into 2025 and their starter got hurt, I could see it happening. But we should have done it months ago.
