I'm not much for gimmicky plays. This is the shit that happens when you try to fool everyone. I think Detroit knew Dallas was the better team and that why they went for 2, 3 times.
No doubt about it. I mean if you know you are the better team, when the shit didn't work, kick the extra point and kick their ass in OT, but they knew damned good and well they would lose.

Hard to believe this article is as balanced as it is. The NFL network was acting as if the Lions were robbed at gunpoint, with of course no mention of the phantom tripping penalty which would have made the whole thing moot.
From the clips I watched on YouTube, FS1 is doing pretty much the same thing. Bayless and his crew barely mentioned it which surprised me because I figured Irvin would be harping on it. SPEAK never even brought it up.

Let me clarify. I flipped off my tv as in :flip . I didn’t turn it off. I was about to turn it off when I returned from the bathroom but saw the ref calling illegal touch.
Meh, I just had to scrape brain matter off the ceiling and jam it back in my ear hole...

This is one of those threads we need to remember as being one of the best chatters.

It was not especially sharp at times, but the sheer joy factor is pretty evident.

And just think, you homos wanted to "chat" in real time.

Way too much effort when they clearly announce to the defense which one is eligible anyway...

If they'd just run a normal play instead of putting all that effort into being tricky, they had a good chance of winning it right there.

They have run tackle eligible plays a couple of times this year but never sending three guys to mess with the referees heads.

Feels like this was all about Campbell's ego. Remember when Vrabel got all kinds of props for outsmarting Belichick with those penalties in their playoff game a few years ago? Seems like Campbell wanted something similar for himself. Don't get that if you just run a simple play action pass to the TE.

That was beyond Garrett cute. That was devious like Belichick used to be.
I can remember it was not too long ago that the referee used to announce it to everyone that number umpty-squat had reported as eligible.

Not sure when/why they stopped that and went to just walking over and informing the defensive captain.

He did do that, it was on one of the radio call vids. ABC/ESPN just didn't have it, probably because Joe Buck had to run his mouth and/or they had to squeeze in a Golden Wedding promo.

Here it is

Or, just tie it up with a PAT and take your changes in OT. Campbell passed up 3 cracks at kicking a PAT.
