It's funny, I used to listen to a radio show with Pat Jones, the old OSU coach who is really close buddies with Jimmy. He always said that back in the day, every coordinator was up in the booth because the vantage point is just so much better. It wasn't even a question. He insists that a lot of especially younger coordinators want to be on the field to get their faces on TV and get more exposure to try to get a HC job.
