Ducks and Angels have both won.

But regardless I think they're just talking about individual teams that haven't won.

I know the Ducks and Angels have won, but the question is if you can consider this step-child foursome be considered as a ‘Big 4’, cuz then Chargers and Clippers would be there with Vikings. Obviously the author didn’t.

The other step-child foursome could arguably be the Jets, Mets, Nets and Islanders, but seems less so

Correct - Chargers (football), Angels (baseball), Clippers (bball) and Ducks (hockey). Not sure about the Clippers, the other three teams fan base can be geographically considered mainly Orange County/Anaheim.

The primary Big 4 when you think of LA are the Lakers, Dodgers, Kings and Rams (or even Raiders).

The Nets freshly moved to Brooklyn so it feels odd to include them, but the non-Manhattan teams where fan base is geographically considered Brooklyn/Queens are the Islanders, Mets and Jets. That could be discussed as a Big 4 outside of the Knicks, Giants, Rangers and Yankees.

I think you are misunderstanding what the tweet meant by big 4.

The 4 big American sports, not the 4 biggest teams in each city from each sport.
 
I guess they're exempting the Chargers because they won an AFL title?

And they're definitely including the length of the franchise -- going back to the Senators -- when they talk about the Rangers, who only got to DFW in 1972.

Vikings may have the longest existence for never having won, but the Arizona Cardinals’ last championship was 1947 as the Chicago Cardinals.

Find me a single Chicago Cardinals fan alive for that championship that’s still an AZ Cardinals fan now.
