Yep. Malik Davis and Pollard did fine in that Tennessee game.

Yep and what is Malik Davis. A 5'11 202 pound undrafted dude who wasn't overly fast or productive in college. Yet the guy can break tackles, has enough short area speed to get yards and do exactly what you need him to do. Zeke wasn't even that.

People make RB sound way more complicated than it is. You block right and get a guy back there with some legs to take advantage of it.

You way underrate the importance of a competent running back. Not just anyone can do it no matter how well it's blocked. Prime example is when we tried to get by with Joseph Randle. If we try bullshit like that again we'll regret it.

Boom. Right there.

You need difference makers at the position, to tire the defense and get chunk plays when no one is expecting it.

You could draft two of them in this deep draft and let both Zeke and Pollard go.

Keyword is competent. There are lots of competent RBs in this world.

I'm a little wary of this though. I'd strongly prefer at least one veteran that I know I can count on. Especially regarding blitz pickup.
Yeah, but I don't know that that is Pollard, and are we really giving a second contract to a skill guy who left with a season-ending injury to a lower extremity? Because I wasn't a fan of that with Gallup this year.

I'm not saying don't get a vet, but Pollard only if the price is right. And yes, I know he was our second best playmaker, but there's no guarantee that's the guy we get back next year, or even if we do, when that might be.

It was that thought process that drove them to select Elliott though.

If they bring back Pollard, and he is healthy, there shouldn't be the same level of urgency.

Sure, take a deep dive into the class. And be prepared if somehow Robinson makes it to our draft slot.

Yep. That's exactly what worries me.

Yeah I mean I don't want to sign a washed up vet just to say we have a vet. My goal would be to bring Pollard back with a 4th round or higher RB to compliment him. If Pollard prices himself out of our range than I'm seeing if a Kareem Hunt, Montgomery or Singletary costs a reasonable price. Barkley and Jacob's I expect to get 10+ mil so I'm out. Let the bottom dwelling teams sign them thinking they will solve something.

But yeah washed up Mark Ingram is probably our speed.

Seriously though, I get you. That’s why they can’t leave any stone unturned to rebuild the rushing game.

Ironic that we started the year relatively strong there.

Then Zeke fell completely off the map and Pollard got broken (again)

Wait, what?

We started the year strong there?

Well we finished ninth in rushing yards in spite of Zeke’s rapid decline and not much rushing from the QB position.

It’s actually my fear, that the fools running the show read in those stats that no changes are needed.

They’ll sign Beckham Jr, keep Zeke at a lower salary, and franchise Pollard.

Instead, Zeke needs to go, and they need to draft his replacement.

Prolly true for most RBs we call elite, though. There would be 4-5 years you would call great. What you do in that time is important.

Davis was always a borderline case (and yes, the migraine helped). For him at least he reached heights few others have ever reached. IMO winning the league MVP is a very big deal, as was winning two Superbowls and being Superbowl MVP. I mean, that's what it's all about. Behind his breakway speed and power, Denver blew teams out of the water. He drove that team.

Bettis was media-driven all the way with his charm and retarded Detroit boy ending his career in Detroit bullshit story.
It is absolutely about the Super Bowls.

A crazy thought, but not as chaotic as a punter kicking field goals...how bout we use all 3 RBs throughout the year?
