It is absolutely about the Super Bowls.
I mean, look at John Riggins. A scattering of decent seasons off and on with the Jets and Washington then he retires and comes back for five more years playing behind an all-timer OL.

In those five years, two of them great, he never averaged more than 4 YPC, but he had that epic Super Bowl vs Miami where he broke it for a 43 yard TD on 4th and short to ice the game and the MVP. He famously had President Reagan on the phone telling the country he needed Riggins to change the spelling of his name.

No Super Bowl trophy and MVP, and I don’t think he gets in the HOF

A crazy thought, but not as chaotic as a punter kicking field goals...how bout we use all 3 RBs throughout the year?
Didn't you hear Jerry, Mac? We go as Zeke goes. Not as Malik Davis goes. Isn't he a safety or something anyway?

Zeke needs to hit the street and I'm not following him.

Yeah, Pollard has gotten a lot better with it. And I will say that's probably the most concerning aspect of a rookie RB. A lot of these guys just didn't do it much in college so it's something that they just have to learn. It's not hard to learn if you're willing. But that is the plus to a veteran.

In all seriousness... How much does Jerry hate Jimmy for his hair?

The Eagles didn't "bet it all" like the Rams did in terms of giving up picks, although I think this version of the Eagles is the best version we'll see for a while given that they have so many impending FA's who are due for big deals.

When Jerry says they "bet it all" I think he really meant they went big this year knowing that their roster would deteriorate over the next year or two. Of course Jerry isn't great at nuance and he's mostly a football idiot so he just lumped them in together with the Rams.

But it's 100000% true that the Eagles roster is going to get worse, likely significantly, over the next year or two as they lose a number of FA's and give Hurts an extension.

Jerry saw they traded a first for Brown and since he doesn't pay close enough attention to the league he thinks based on that they bet it all.

Two firsts for Galloway and a first and a third for RW11. He's just hoping they fucked up as much.

You have to be built for it too. A guy like McBride with powerful legs to plant and brace would be better suited than speedsters like Gibbs or Pollard

Most RBs just dive at the legs and it's very effective. It's fun when a RB just stands in there and blows someone up but the truth is you have a 260+ pound human running full speed sometimes and having even a 220 pound RB try to block them man up is not always that effective. The RB isn't going to sustain a block the way you expect an OT to. So in reality you're just trying to buy your QB a little time. If that's cutting a guy low so be it. Regardless of which choice you make, the rusher isn't going to just be blocked for good. You're just slowing the guy down.
