They were hoping to put land on the PS. Though we all would have liked that he has 2 solo tackles and a sack this year. Cox wasn’t impressing and hasn’t done anything elsewhere. I don’t even remember Bond. Harper has 4 tackles. So it isn’t exactly like we are missing out there. The knock is the lack of trying anything else.

I'd let him go before I'd make a QB of Dak's quality the highest paid player in the league.
And replace him with whom? And how?

Hey, maybe we can trade for Sam Howell?

That's the big issue and it's what we talked about with the last contract too.

You're now talking about a QB good enough to get to 3 straight playoffs. might have been 4 if not for the injury in 2020.

It's silly to go back to square 1 to avoid paying him when 20 teams (at least) would consider him an upgrade.

We just have to hope he's more reasonable this time and accepts a long term contract where we can spread it out.

What's a little encouraging was he actually did improve in 2023.

He's got to figure out his own inconsistency on the road though.

And ... what the actual fuck.. the team has to fucking fix the defensive interior. Instead it's almost like they dismantled it and never put it back together.

Dalvin Tomlinson is a big reason why the Browns' defense is giving them an outside chance to go to the Superbowl with Joe fricking Flacco at QB. I can't believe this guy has bounced around the way he has, and the Browns once again demonstrated how the salary cap means absolutely nothing the moment they signed him.

I don't see him taking a team-friendly contract. He was playing out of his mind in his last contract year a couple of years ago. Regardless of the fact that he's never won a conference round game, he's getting elite QB money.

I have to verify this for myself because we've had some very lean turnover years where it felt like we went a month without a turnover.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

For the majority of the 2010s, we were constantly among the league worst in creating turnovers so I find it very hard to believe we never went consecutive games without creating them.

Unless Werder is counting something we’re not seeing, yeah, he tripping. Quick glance at turnovers by defense:

2021 - Minnesota and Denver
2020 - Arizona and Washington
2019 - Minnesota, Detroit, New England, Buffalo
2018 - Seattle, Detroit. Then playoffs Seattle, Rams
2017 - Arizona, Rams. Then Philadelphia, Chargers
2016 - Browns, Steelers, Ravens and Washington
2015 - Falcons, Saints, Patriots, Giants

I knew it couldn't be accurate given how poor we were at creating turnovers throughout the majority of Garrett's tenure as coach.

Unless Werder is counting stuff like blocked punts, missed FGs, forced fumbles not recovered, 4th down failures, but just starting with our horrible 2015 season, found that four-game streak w/o turnover.

He'll definitely get elite money. I'm just talking about taking more than 4 years so we can stretch out the money.

I don't get the formula, really.

Pay a non elite QB elite money and pray for a fucking miracle super bowl appearance?

Imagine Dak in the same boat as KC. Unable to afford weapons because all the money is tied up in one person. Even Mahomes is struggling.
