Wasn’t everyone impressed with Dak’s play calling in the preseason? Just let him call the plays old school Terry Bradshaw style.

Saying the coach sucks is hyperbole.

McCarthy has been great as a HC.

He hasn't been very impressive as a playcaller, but to be fair, it's only been 5 games and he is working with a dumbass at QB.

With that being said, the offense has also been very unimaginative and if this is how it goes all season, then he absolutely needs to go outside the organization for an OC and give the reigns to said OC.

So . . . wait. They had an OC, who they fired, but got hired right way by another team. McCarthy, as HC. appointed himself as play caller, which he's sucked at so far. That's a major coaching decision. He's had the same dumbass QB for three seasons and done nothing about it. How does that make him great as a HC?

And, oh yeah. They have another OC, sort of, Schottenheimer, a retread who's offenses sucked elsewhere. McCarthy promoted him. Another HC decision.

So you're saying we SHOULDN'T have let Kellen Moore go?

And if you haven't noticed, they're bitching about him in San Diego for doing the same shit he was doing here.

This probably wasn't the best example to use.

:lol

You think McCarthy had the power to get rid of Dak all this time? Jerry was just gonna sign off on that, was he?

How long have you been a Cowboys fan?

That is turning out to be a bad decision, but that would be the only true blemish through 4seasons as HC and you want to lynch him for this and throw out all the good he's done?

Ridiculous.

The Schottenheimer ties are there with Marty, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if BS was the only option available at OC. Why? Because he was already on staff, and one thing Jerry hates more than almost anything else is paying coaches to not coach, or to add to a staff that's already under contract.

The way they worked it this time, Moore doesn't have to be paid because he got a job with someone else, and BS was already on staff. I'm sure he got a raise to be OC, but nothing like what hiring an outsider would have cost. Perfect for Jerry.

He is squelching that talk for now.

I didn't mean as playcaller, just OC.

And BTW, I have no problems with Schotty. I like some things they did in Seattle with Wilson, and it's mostly Mike's show anyway. No problem with that, either. Don't think Xs and Os are the issue here.

It's too early for that.

I know we're all in a panic because we got the shit kicked out of us, but ultimately, it's way too soon to scrap the entire offense.

Maybe the offensive design is shit and maybe McCarthy just doesn't have it as a playcaller anymore. But how can you be definitive about either of those things after only 5 weeks, especially when the starters didn't play a lick of preseason?

I hope these morons learned that the preseason is absolutely necessary and it's mind-boggling that McCarthy didn't think they didn't need it especially in a new year when they were implementing new aspects to the offense.

From this point going forward, he has to open the playbook up. There's no sense in being conservative anymore because we aren't going to beat anyone worth a damn doing what we're doing now. And now that it's proven that you can't protect Dak from himself, you might as well just open things up and maybe you get lucky and you allow the guy to hang himself just like Kellen Moore did and you can convince the Jones' that Dak isn't the guy just as you did with Moore.

Yep, as awful as Sunday night was, I don't think much has changed in the big picture. We still just need to somehow scrape out enough wins to get to the playoffs. It's a long, long season and this team and every other one will have evolved a lot by the time we get to late December.

What a misleading "headline" in that tweet. He says Dak couldn't have won that game because the Niners roster is much better than ours, not because of the playcaller.

OK, mea culpa. Moore was a bad example. But I don't think his offense was any worse than McCarthy's

And, no, McCarthy doesn't have the authority on his own to get rid of Dak. But neither has he done anything to make him a better QB. In fact, Dak is probably regressing.

And, no, I don't want to lynch McCarthy. I just think he's a very mediocre HC. For Jerry, McCarthy was a safe hire, an easy hire. A retread who somehow pushed the right buttons in an interview. It's the same reason the coaching musical chairs continues around the NFL. HCs get fired, then get hired as assistants somewhere, then maybe back to a HC somewhere else, where they're just as mediocre as they were before.

Under Jerry, any HC is doomed to mediocrity. See the Twitter quotes below (above).

Fair enough but I think it's hard to compare circumstances.

The Broncos beat the Bears. The Bears beat the Redskins. The Redskins beat the Broncos.

None of it means anything in isolation. You have to take things in totality.
but those are shit teams beating one another. The Cards have played 2 of what were considered to be top 3 NFC teams, and exposed one as a fraud. Before the 9ers did the same, only more convincingly. Maybe were not top 3 NFC contender.

I do have to bring up the name Mike Nolan in context here. Subtract one point.
