A nice trend, but man, it’s only been two games. People sure love to hype the Cowboys!
You have been an a binge saying "It's only two games!" Yeah. No kidding. It's only been two games for everyone.

Enjoy it. It's been fun. And it's not just hyping the Cowboys. If ANY team had a start like this, they'd be talking about it.

Yeah I agree. You have to sort of live in the moment and enjoy what's going on otherwise what's the point in watching games. You don't enjoy the wins and you get miserable or upset over the losses. That's no way to live life.

I still enjoy the games, but until we actually get to a Championship game I’m just not as invested as I used to be. I’ve done the handwringing and celebrating only to see them get bounced in the playoffs- usually looking nothing like the team that steamrolled the Giants etc. So, I’m just a bit more reserved during the regular seasons, hoping for the team to turn the corner when it’s for all the marbles. Thats all.

Wait. So now the Jets were shitbags? Hell, I thought just last week they were thought to be a good team. Strong defense, strong running team, etc...

Yep, a shitbag Jets team because basically they were playing with one arm behind their back. Or are you gonna try to convince everyone Wilson was on Rodgers level at QB? The kid was demoted and benched, he pretty much sucks ass. Take away the lucky pass for the TD and he threw for a pathetic 100 yards.

I would bet a lot of money that if Rodgers is at QB that’s either a squeaker of a win for the Cowboys, or a straight out loss based on the Red Zone issues we had.

Why don’t you mention the Jets defense?

OTOH, he might've been sacked eight times. He certainly wouldn't have been running up the middle like Wilson did.
Maybe. But he’s still Rodgers, and I bet he throws for more than 100 yards regardless of the pressure. The guy has such a quick release and sees the field so well. I just think it would have possibly been a different game.

Different sure, but let's not pretend that we didn't destroy them. This wasn't a close affair.

There’s no doubting the Jets D. Its stout. But with virtually no passing offense to worry about the Cowboys could pin their ears back and really go after Wilson. Even with almost a 3-1 disadvantage in TOP the Jets had to be gassed yet still kept the Cowboys from scoring TDs. It feels a little like a hollow victory to me. But that’s just me.

I’ve been hard on Tyron, but I’ll be damned if he doesn’t look the best he has in a long time.

He looks really good. I wondered if he’d be a the weak link but he’s proven to be a strength.

I forget what thread I posted it in yesterday but after watching the all-22 I was really impressed with Tyron in pass protection, and not so much Steele.

Just one game so I think it's probably an outlier for Steele, but Tyron looked like he did in his prime, which we've obviously seen enough of a sample size of. We'll see if he can continue it but it was great to see.

They were barely trying to score once it got to 24-10, the play-calling made it obvious that they were mostly running clock and not aggressively going after it because they didn't really have to. Personally I love that sort of pragmatism as opposed to the unnecessary idiotic risk-taking we've seen in past years that has led to turnovers and fuck ups.

Not hitting a TD on either of the first two drives of the second half was annoying given that we got to the 1 but if you think the victory is "hollow" because of some red zone efficiency bullshit you're just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

And the Jets are obviously a far worse team with Wilson at QB but he was also 5-4 as a starter last year and they just beat Buffalo the week before with Wilson playing every snap but about 5, so let's not pretend like this is a 4 win team or something because Wilson is in at QB.

As long as they don't quit on Saleh they'll still probably win 8 or 9 games.

I've always been quick to pump the brakes and recognize the issues even though we were winning, so I get where you're coming from.... But I think you're being a bit harsh here.

First, while they didn't have their QB they did have that excellent defense that we drove down the field on multiple times.

Yes, we weren't the most efficient in the redzone but some of that was also safe playcalling that I think would have been more aggressive under different circumstances.

This team is legit. Exactly how good are we? Time will tell.

But we are a legitimately good football team and it's ok to enjoy their success.

Remember when everyone would bitch, myself included, how we couldn't bury weaker teams or how we couldn't take advantage of teams missing good players?

Well, on Sunday we did both of those things.

I've been as hard on the Cowboys as anyone during the last decade, but there's absolutely a difference in these Mike McCarthy teams from the ones before and if we're never going to give them credit when they make genuine strides, then what are we even watching for?
