Barring some unrevealed physical issue, that number was an aberration for Dak and I expect a return to normal next season.
I get it, but the situational awareness piece was part of it. I said it before, his INTs used to be high passes over the middle, now it is the same thing, but more to the perimeter. The one common factor in all of those plays it that is 3rd and long. The problem is that he is too aggressive trying to make a play.

I don't have a problem being aggressive down the field in those situations. What I hate is when we aren't actually aggressive but instead throw an INT on a 10 yard curl or some bullshit. Like if you're going to be aggressive toss a 50/50 bomb up to TY Hilton or something. Those most aggravating thing to me is when you throw an INT on some short pass with low upside. Like don't take those risks.

That is a true distinction. But then you can look at the play design. Take that Colts play. Gallup is your guy in man coverage against Gilmore. Really? His choices were minimal since the route employed by Lamb was diversional in nature.

The QB needs to be situationally aware, but shouldn’t the play caller do the same? Maybe that is what prompted Fat Mike to grab the play sheet.

Prescott is going to make the same mistakes in tense situations. The focus is on getting him “Command” of the offense (Fat Mike’s words, not mine). I guess this could be giving him more choice at the LOS. Nobody is calling it a “friendly” adjustment, which is nice.

Yeah I mean I think sometimes a QB is expected to just trust his WR. Aikman did all the time with Irvin. He wasn't waiting to see if he was open. He was just throwing the ball trusting that Irvin would be in the right spot and make the play. Gallup was a liability out there last year. And even at his best Gallup is no Irvin.

Okay, who is the guy who called that play with Gallup in that role as the primary WR? These weren't exactly scrambles and Prescott was making a desperation hurl. Most where read and decision errors.

Say that reminds me, the Prescott running element needs to return to the offense and he needs to have enough courage to make it happen. And I am not just talking design and putting him in harms way. I am more about him realizing that should be part of his game every Sunday, He did it sporadically at times last year, but it needs to be more. Buying two or even three TDs running when the pass isn't that is part of playmaking.

Well obviously it was Kellen Moore. Some of that I'm sure is also how the defense was defending it. You expect your starting WR to beat man to man coverage. Throwing into double coverage would obviously be bad. The problem is our WR corp was Lamb and a bunch of shit.

I am eager to see what dimension Cooks adds. I really think that he can be exactly what we need to unlock Lamb, who still did pretty damn good last year considering.
