It seems fast.Damn... That was fast.
This is what the CBA promised for years with draft pick slotting. It seems fast.

Zeke’s cap savings don’t become available until June, right? You’d think they’d wait until then to keep as much cap space available as possible.
I think it was an argument gone bad. No other reason to keep it quiet and just try to sneak it in the news.
This was Fat Mike getting his “analytics” guys on his staff more entrenched from what I have read.Maybe he wasn't that good at it? I was assuming the guy was just old as dirt. But I actually don't think he is that much older than me. Graduated college in like 2000.
Eric Scott mention. There you have it. No doubt McClay and Co weighed that heavily.
Side note, I wonder exactly what their specialized test is. Vertical and broad jump are already good tests for that, plus I'm sure they know what these guys power clean, etc.
“If the number is higher, that means they can move more weight with speed relative to somebody else,” said Keegan Ross, performance specialist and physical therapist at EXOS. “So, Mazi, DeMarvion and Eric can all move a lot of weight at speed despite their body weight. … Very explosive.”
Scott does not lack for witnesses.
A crowd including 29 scouts attended his March 27 pro day. They saw him grimace and favor his tightened right quadriceps during the 40-yard dash, lumbering across in 4.71 seconds. They knew to dismiss the number’s importance.
“I think he would have been a 4.4 guy or maybe faster based on how he was trending here,” Ross said. “His best splits, with front 20 and back 20, were on track for a 4.42. Both laser. [The pro day 40] is just not an accurate representation of what he can do. That man is extremely explosive, extremely powerful and fast.”
Has he been given a time out for this infraction? He didn't post a source link.
I admit I ripped this off from speedkilz88 at the zone. He didn't post a source link.
Scott was the surprise here. We already knew that Mazi Smith was a freak. Even Overshown. I dunno if this is what drove then to surrender a fifth, but it could have been a factor. It makes you wonder if there is a harder shift to this kind of analytics when it comes to draft picks going forward or if this was the last of that.
I think we've leaned into the testing numbers pretty hard over the last 10 years so I don't think it's a significant departure, but yea it'll be interesting to monitor.
