Arians gets into his team's ROH almost immediately. Jimmy must be jealous.

I was surprised to learn he is 3rd all time in rushing yards.
At one point I though he had an outside shot at Emmitt's record. Dude just fucking never stopped.

IMO, had he not suffered that bad injury his sophomore year, I think he'd have led Miami to a championship over OSU, carried a higher pedigree and much more notoriety, and would have been drafted higher as well. He had already beaten out Willis McGahee as starter having dominated as a true freshman in 2001.

Instead it was McGahee who (rightfully) got all the publicity that great 2002 season and even though the Canes lost to OSU and he suffered a terrible knee injury himself, he was still drafted in the 1st round.

Gore came back strong, but the perception of him by the time he was drafted was as damaged goods and the main reason he ended up a 3rd rounder.

Does Frank Gore deserve the Barry Sanders ‘if only he played on a better team’ uplift to his stats?

He didn’t play for a .500 team until his seventh season when he was 28.

Cuz I’ve been ardent ‘Gore is not a HOFer’, but if he played for a better team, maybe a few more of those 1100 seasons become 1400 yard seasons and now we’re talking HOF. But, no, those 5,000 yards post-SF don’t count towards HOF credentials in my opinion.

Hall of Longevity award for sure.

Third all time rusher is kind of compelling, but he's not a scorer (18 total TDs...) and lacks signature plays most HOFers have on top of the whole no-playoff success thing.

I'd put Herschel Walker ahead of Gore by a good margin (but that's my own bias).

In eight playoff starts, he is on pace for a 16-game stat of 1,300 yards and 10TDs, 4.5 YPC, which is excellent. Even had 110 yards, 1TD and 5.7YPC in the Super Bowl…but, yeah, you don’t really remember any of it.

Hall of Fame is mucking it up when they inducted Edgerrin James, Jerome Bettis and will further do so if Gore goes in. For twenty years now and no stopping in sight, offensive stat compilers are being churned out. If Gore goes in, then Matt Ryan, Philip Rivers, Stafford, Reggie Wayne should be able to walk down the same path of precedence.

Meanwhile, players in positions without stats get punked like Darren Woodson, Kevin Williams, Mecklenburg, Zack Thomas and certain OL
