2022 Cowboys Free Agency Thread

I am hoping the team is going for big o-line and stout running game setting up the pass plays. Then if we take a G in the first it will be all good. The rest will play out

I liked Moore as a third rounder. I still like him in the second just not as much.

I think Skyy Moore goes in the second. And if he does than I'm out on him. I think he could be a good slot WR in the NFL. But matched up against a NFL caliber corner in man coverage I think he is really going to struggle to get separation to catch the ball. Which is fine if you have a 6'4" guy whose size can still create the mismatch. But Moore is a 5'10" dude who doesn't play that tall to me. Basically I could see him having a very Randall Cobb type career with the right QBs throwing to him. But for the most part he will be a slot guy that can beat up on zone coverages and get you 600-800 yards a season.

WR really worries me if I'm being honest. I love the idea of rebuilding an elite O-line. But I still have Zeke running behind it, so the running game is inherently limited. And if Dak doesn't have real weapons to break things open, it's not going to be pretty. WR is right there with O-line in terms of desperation in my mind. Of course the problem is if the O-line is shit I don't know how much receiver really even matters.

Agreed, if it were me I'd go OL/defense in the first two rounds unless someone like Dotson were there in the 2nd.

We can grab someone like Khalil Shakir in the 3rd and be fine, Gallup was a 3rd after all.

I think that's a lot of pressure to nail a third round pick. Someone like Khalil Shakir sounds great but outside of Khalil Shakir and Alec Pierce, I'm not sure on the receivers that will be left in the third round. If I went that route I probably try to double dip in the third and fourth round with a Khalil Shakir and a Justyn Ross at least increasing my odds that we hit on at least one guy who can be an immediate top 3 WR in the NFL. I don't think we will have a functional receiving corp to start the season without some serious help from the draft.

If this thread wasn’t stickified, it would be at least stadium board page 2 fodder at this point.

We aren't even talking free agency anymore. This is probably the worst free agency I can recall in terms of even looking at players to add. Usually we at least get some news of guys visiting. We don't even have that. You get Washington and Fowler and that's it. Not even your classic 5 or 6 Olawale signings. You get 2.

They’re not even messing with Neal and/or Kazee. Let the spares twist in the wind.

Wagner to Rams, who had basically no cap room left after going all in to win a SB. But that’s not how you build SB teams says Jerry and Stephen Bumblefuck.

We must remember…THE CAP IS REAL, YOU MOTHERFUCKERS.

No $18M running backs on their roster, so ...

David Bell would be fine too, ran a shitty 40 but he's really good.

I bet there's a non-zero chance we "decide" we like Pollard as a WR option.

Rams understand how to do this. Stephen will never understand. He’s incapable.

I think they'll add a few Olawales once the remaining unsigned players realize the money on the market has essentially dried up and they have to accept our offer of one year for the coins from our couch cushions.

Probably. I'm still shocked they haven't signed at least one O-lineman. Like some sort of a center/guard combo as a backup option or a swing tackle. Nothing special but I would have expected a little protection there. Sort of like they signed Washington and Fowler to add some help at positions of desperate need. Even though those guys aren't much help.

Outside of that I'm not really sure what they would sign. Maybe some dudes after the draft if we don't get like another LBer or something like that.

Bro, quarter billion dollar yachts don't pay for themselves. You have to budget.

I guarandamntee their yacht cost a metric shit-ton more than just 250,000 bucks. Probably closer to a quarter BILLION.

No kidding. Half the boats on Lake of the Ozarks are 250,000 boats. Nice speed boats are easily that.

They signed Nsekhe last year and ended up not really needing him a whole lot thanks to Steele's rise and they also have Hall.

McGovern is the penciled starter for now, and I think they are looking to see who shakes loose after the draft.

They will draft someone of course, and so will everyone else which will result in several veterans being released.

We only want them if they are free. You can’t win with Jerry and goofson pinching Pennies.

Just watch this and tell me you don’t want to punch him in the face.

Worse than punch.

I love how there's no pushback when he claims the cap wouldn't allow the, to keep Gregory and Cooper. They literally could still be here and under the cap, even if they had to restructure cooper.

They chose to be less talented and continue to do so to this day. Fuck him.
