2022 Cowboys Free Agency Thread

I just read a quote from that fat faced piece of hillbilly white trash. Wagner is off the table I see. He names off a list of scrubs and Parsons, then adds that we're good a team linebacker because Kearney is kind of a linebacker too.

Fuck getting better, it's just all about how Stephen, Jerry, and their room full of yes men feeling good about shit.

Just watch this and tell me you don’t want to punch him in the face.

Noah Brown must have incriminating pics

Just checking to see if I missed anything?

No?

Alright, cool, ya'll keep up the good work.

Gonna be cool when our starting WRs in the opener are Lamb/Washington/Brown because the project WR (i.e. Metchie/Pickens) they took in the 2nd isn't up to speed.

That's the problem free agency gutted our depth and Stephen gutted our talent. We went from one of the best and deepest WR corps going into last year to one of the thinnest in the NFL.

We have to hit on WR in the first few rounds of this draft and it may not be a bad idea to double dip.

Knowing full well you will get jack and shit return from a rookie. Anyone (Stephen) ever hear of a bridge?

I mean I think you can get a rookie WR who steps in and is good from day one. But you aren't getting Cooper. Of course I feel a lot better if that guy is Olave than say Skyy Moore.

But then how do you feel about the second round guards. And if you have Connor McGovern at LG will Dak be able to even get your receivers the ball.

We really need to draft one pretty high in anticipation of letting Lamb go two or three years from now.

Well luckily Lamb is under our control for 3 more seasons. I'm expecting either a great season next year for him and a Zeke like extension after 3 seasons. Or he will struggle going against double teams, his success rates drop and the Cowboys are panicked to find another Cooper to start and Lamb goes the 5 years before any contract talks.

Unlike some I'm ok with a first round WR but for our specific team and situation I want someone like Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave or Jameson Williams. I just don't think Drake London or Burks is really that great of a fit for us in the first round. And maybe I'm wrong but I just don't think those are guys that pair well with what we have and Dak.

Then you have Dotson and Skyy Moore. I know a lot of people are starting to really get high on Skyy Moore but I'm not in that camp. To me it's Dotson over him all day every day. Skyy Moore makes some great catches in tight coverage. But the separation against WGAS schools and cornerbacks is not there to me. So yes, he makes great looking catches but I just wonder if that was against an SEC, Big Ten, Pac 12 corner, would that even be a catch? And hell NFL corners are even better than that. I think he could be a nice slot guy but I'm not on board with him the way many are.

Dotson on the other hand looks way more explosive, gets better separation and while he is skinnier he plays much taller to me. For a 5'11" guy he has great hands. Makes some truly beautiful catches and can high point the ball extremely well. The guy looks electric too. I really like Dotson. I've heard he could struggle against press and I will say most of what I saw was off coverage. But he was blowing past corners giving 10 years cushion. And when they would go to bail, the guy could stop on a dime and make the 10 yard catch for a first down. I wouldn't take him at 24 but for me personally, he is a borderline first.

George Pickens gets a lot of love as a second. I'm not sure on him. His injuries and a covid shortened season kind of prevented him from ever putting up huge numbers. You've also got guys like Watson, Pierce and Metchie. Metchie might be the best of those guys as a rookie. But Watson has the potential to be better down the road. And I like Pierce, deceptive speed and really solid size.

Justyn Ross is an interesting day 3 WR for me.

I am hoping the team is going for big o-line and stout running game setting up the pass plays. Then if we take a G in the first it will be all good. The rest will play out

I liked Moore as a third rounder. I still like him in the second just not as much.

Agreed, if it were me I'd go OL/defense in the first two rounds unless someone like Dotson were there in the 2nd.

We can grab someone like Khalil Shakir in the 3rd and be fine, Gallup was a 3rd after all.
