2022 Cowboys Free Agency Thread

I'd love to know how Mike McDaniel got to be a coaching intern at the age of 22 and work his way up to now head coach. I only say this because I'm very jealous.
Many get started as Quality control coaches....basically getting coffee and breaking down game film. I got to spend time with Wes Phillips when he had that position.....Garrett kept him on after Wade was let go....I think he just became an OC

that might be true, but I get the feeling that would not be a majority of these folks on this message board. Although I think some of these guys here are Madden players.
There's only about 50 guys here, so a majority isn't much

I saw both in concert....Johnny put on a great show. I know you're busting my balls, but they were great.
Just messing with you amigo. But true story…my old man sang with them in an RSO tour. He said Cline cussed like a sailor but was a sweetheart. Johnny Cash actually recognized my dad 15 years later in a restaurant after a show and invited my mom and dad to eat with him and June Carter. Pretty cool.

That's awesome! Many of us have stories to tell..
Some see it as bragging, I just see it as sharing.

Nah it’s not bragging. Hell it wasn’t ME that got to sing with them. I’ve always thought it was a cool story, most youngsters today don’t even know Cline existed.

Obviously you've never worked 90 hours a week, coaching and breaking down film. I did that for 14 years and I will argue that a 22 year old gifted athlete doesn't know as much as a coach of 40 years.

Arguing that someone with direct experience playing or coaching for a long time has a better grasp on the game than someone who hasn't is far, far different than your previous statement that you can't speak intelligently on the game if you never played it or coached it.

Yeah I was just thinking of how much I would have loved to be a coach intern in the NFL when I was 22. I sort of remember applying for stuff like that while waiting on Law School acceptance. But I feel like it's impossible to get those things without knowing someone. My life turned out ok. Although I'd still give up my practice if I could be high up on an NFL teams executive side. I'll just coach my son when he is old enough instead.

So basically he's cereal that comes in a bag. Instead of Fruit Loops we get Tootie Fruities.

'Great Value' Bobby Wagner, or is that too much praise as well?
Wagner is the McDonald's burger. Vander Esch is the welfare burger.

It's a beautiful thing....I only got as high as a HS coach and AD in Texas.....loved every minute of it. I retired way to young.
