Those fans won't be able to save them in November.

Reporter: "Coach, what's your prediction for the game?"

Brent Venables: "My prediction?"

100% true, but for Tech to beat out 63 other teams as best fanbase is pretty amazing. #cactus

I expected him to play for Tennessee...

I love that college football is back but damn these games are too damn long. Non OT game last night between Pitt & W. Virginia took over 4 damn hours.

I think the main problem is there are too many reviews.

Also, you'll be happy to know that players getting kicked out of games over highly questionable targeting calls is still a thing.

Those targeting reviews slow shit way down too. They need to automate that system more or trash it.

So, they expanded the playoffs to 12 games. I think 8 would have been a better number, but 12 is better than 4.

Yeah, 12 is way too many IMO. The great thing about college football is that every game matters. Now it won't so much. You might even have the top teams resting players the last week like in the NFL. Oh well.

This just means Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Oklahoma, and ND will have permanent playoff spots.

Eh every game still matters. I mean maybe not to the Alabama types who can cruise in there every year with 2 losses and not think twice. But for the majority of teams it still matters a lot. It just means that one loss doesn't make it stop mattering for 99% of the teams.

You're thinking of Alabama and Ohio State. I'm thinking about everyone else that once they take a loss their season is over. Or at least pretty much over. Those games after that loss don't matter for those teams at all under the current format. But instead you're making a whole lot more games meaningful. The Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, USC, Stanford, Florida or whoever care a lot more about the second half of their season.

I thought 8 would have been plenty but this brings in the possibility of the “Cinderella team” that catches fire at the right time.

It's the season opener and there are like 12 people at this game in Maryland at kickoff.

@Simpleton, defend your peeps.

Enough already. Kick them and Rutgers out of the Big 10.

Wow. SDSU is about to get the ball back with a chance to win it, too.

What's going on here, @Cowboysrock55?

Welp, Iowa with the safety that should finish it.

I should like Iowa but I can never get past those Steeler ripoff uniforms.

Sooners starting out really hyped. They might need to come down to earth pretty soon. They are using a lot of energy early.
