Sorry, but that's fucking idiotic.
It was Darnold plus two first rounders, with Darnold serving as a placeholder until they found someone better. "Dak or bust" is idiotic.

You could spend 5 first rounders trying to find what you already know you have. If you have a franchise QB, you keep him. It's that simple.

I think most assumed the Broncos were parting with Von Miller. Looks like he's staying put.

Haven't kept up with it, but why would Seattle ever trade Wilson? And why would he want to leave? None of that makes any sense.

Or is it 95% internet nonsense, which is my impression.

I think there's real interest on Wilson's part to leave Seattle. It feels like he wants to play a little more freely but Pete Carol is an old-school run the ball and play defense kind of coach. So that could be where the friction lies.

If I'm Seattle no way do I trade him. I do what it takes, within reason, to make him happy. With Wilson you can pencil the Seahawks in for at least 9 wins each year. Plus Carol is damn near 70 years old. At this stage of his life and career, I can't see him hanging around for a 3-5 year rebuild around a new QB.

It's kind of a double-edged sword. If Wilson truly wants out bad, and the Seahawks keep him, it could turn toxic in a hurry.

Russ is such a goody two-shoes company man, I doubt he rocks the boat too much. The tame comments he made on the Dan Patrick Show a few weeks ago was basically him going scorched earth by his standard. He just doesn't seem like that dude. Unless he's Eddie Haskell or Wayne Brady from Chappelle's Show.

You very well may be right. The Seahawks are in a really bad place if they do trade him, so it might be worth the risk to keep him.

But last year they "Let Russ Cook" and he put up monstrous numbers until later in the year when their team flaws started showing up.

The only way this makes any sense is if Colin Cowherd was right for once (blind squirrels and acorns) and his old lady is in his ear.

Yeah so what did you accomplish. Everything you get for Dak is used up trying to find another Dak. You're spinning your wheels.
I proposed this before he signed the extension and we were staring at losing him for nothing next off-season. A rookie QB wouldn't be making $40M per year (meaning more $ for free agents) and might, in time, be better.
