Who says McCarthy isn’t anything more than average, and the front office fails to adequately address the defensive line? What position in regards to contention do you guys really think we will be in then?

The funny thing is big WRs used to be all the trend in the NFL, then teams started looking for exclusively big corners. Now the NFL is all about speed at WR. The Tyreke Hill types have started to take over. I wonder how long it is before teams shift back to smaller, yet more athletic, speed corners. Then of course you'll see the big 6'4" WRs coming back in vogue.

Those big WRs also take big hits, too.

I will say spread offenses that favor speed require a lot of defensive scheme discipline to counter, and with rosters changing over so fast that’s not as easy to coach.

It is just as effective and probably easier to find the coverage breakdown as it is to exploit a coverage talent mismatch. Hell we see it with Dak every game.

In the case of a burner like Hill any mistake often leads to a score.
