2017 Mock Drafts

Njoku is raw, drops the ball too much, can't block. Makes me nervous in the first round. Does he give you that much more then say Evan Engram later in the draft? Hell I can't believe how little love Jordan Leggett gets either. I thought he looked stellar in the National Championship against that Alabama defense and all their talent.

I'd prefer to not take a TE in the first. I'd rather get one of the DE's or WR's and most likely one of those two positions will be available with a worthy prospect at 28. TE is a deep position this year and we should be able to get a quality one in the 2nd to 4th range. But somehow in the unlikely scenario that all the top 6 DE's are gone and the top 1st round caliber WR's are off the board then I'd consider Howard or even Njoku, but it shouldn't come down to that.

Matt Miller's post-Combine mock has us taking Derek Barnett at 28.

Latest Casserly mock has us taking Adoree Jackson at 28.

Your first three picks are so fap worthy I'm not sure that the rest matters.

But I wouldn't bother with Michael Roberts. Frankly Rico Gathers gets me more excited. The Villinova kid is interesting. I know some think he is just an athletic looking dork but he has the production to back it up. I'm not sure where to put him on the dline but I'd find a spot. Either as a 3 technique shooting the gap or as a base LE.

He has some interesting traits. Good size at 6' 4" 270 lbs . But the thing that really stands out to me are his hands. Damn things are the size of snow shovels. They measured 11 1/2 inches at the combine. DeForrest Buckner at 11 3/4 are the biggest ever measured at the combine.

Holy shit, I will jerk it clean off if that is our haul.

Yeah, just seems like a big, slow, blocking TE to me. My preference at that point would probably be someone like George Kittle who is an excellent blocker but has more upside as a receiver. Again though, I'm nitpicking over a 6th round pick.

Also no idea if Gibson will still be around that late but I'd love him. His forty threw people off but his game speed is electric. Plus he is a returner and special teams guy. Love that pick. You could put that in the sixth and I wouldn't bat an eye.

He caught 45 passes for 533 yards and 16 TDs. I'd say he a little more than just a big, slow blocking TE.

A TE that I like that we haven't been hearing much about is Adam Shaheen. The guy is huge. 6'6" 280 lbs and ran 4.7

He played for D2 Ashland and caught 57 for 867 and 16 TDs. He's only an adequate blocker, but I think he could improve. Especially with that size. I'm not really sure where he projects, but I'd bet he goes by the 3rd or 4th round. If he is still there at our 4th I'd love to grab him. Maybe even the 3rd, depending on who is there.

Don't want anything to do with McKinley as a first round pick. Shaq Lawson is a similar case and his rookie year was pretty much wasted.

Good returner, but not really ready to be a starting type cornerback.

Wouldn't be pissed off, but not exactly ecstatic either.

I would take Takk at 28 and walk off smiling.
