LOL @ The Eagles

So long story short, I think Hurts has maybe one more year of being able to handle 150+ carries while staying relatively healthy but after that he's inevitably going to start missing several games a year while his explosiveness as a runner diminishes.
But the squats, man...

Haven't you seen how much he squats?!?

The thing is though, it's his own fault. Baltimore would probably give him that hurts contract or close to it. But Lamar wants fully guaranteed so he wouldn't have signed this.

That or the Ravens aren't that dumb with Lamar already showing signs of breaking down. Then again they just handed Beckham that contract so there level of intelligence on contracts might not be as high as I'm giving them credit for.

I agree. I think they are stuck on the guarantee thing but otherwise would be happy to sign him to big money. I honestly think their best move would be to trade him and start over. They'll never win with him.

It's funny Wentz got paid big right before Dak and they have already managed to move on and pay another QB a big deal. Sort of shows you the cap isn't really that difficult to deal with.
But Wentz was traded and the next team assumed the contract, right? It’s not like he was cut and the bonus and guarantees were accelerated into the cap.

The bonus and guarantees were still accelerated. Eagles took on like 33.8 mil in dead cap at the time. Of course if you're not replacing that big money with another big money QB it's easy. Because all rookie QBs cost pennies by comparison.

Plus 33.8 mil by todays standards isn't even that big anymore. Jalen has 179 mil in guarantees for example. To move on from that any time soon would be way more impossible. Basically the Eagles are stuck with him for at least 3 or 4 years with that type of bonus.

Yeah, the Colts desperation along with the coach that Wentz played well under in Philly saved their ass. (Brain cramp, his name slips my mind)
