Cowboys Nostalgia Thread

Outside of that amazing game vs the Saints, can someone tell me when he made a play that ended a game or sealed a win?

There are precious few, and none in the playoffs (as a Cowboy, at least).

Demarcus Lawrence has a much more clutch playoff moment, sealing the Detroit game in 2014, for example.

Ware was so special and rare, and the Joneses rode that dog into the ground just like they did Tony Romo.

You can just see their thinking, we don't need DT's, we have Ware-- so let's draft another LB who fell out of the first round because of injury or some other BS. That way we'll look like geniuses when that LB finally breaks through and plays consistently like a 1st rounder for being "the only organization set up to take risks" (insert sharp Jerry Jones nod here).

Well that shat never happened. Not with Bruce Carter, Sean Lee, Randy Gregory, or Jaylon Smith.

In Ware's prime, that fucking 2009 draft added NOTHING to the whole team. The only DL they drafted post-Parcells with a 1st or 2nd day pick during Ware's tenure was Tyrone Crawford

Jones actually said once that we didn't need OL because Tony was so good at avoiding pressure and getting the ball out. Unbelievable-- that was our GM talking.

Why have we allowed these selfish fuckers to suck the life out of our team like bone marrow?

Ware helped get them to the playoffs, no matter what he did when they got there. The team may not have even made the playoffs if it wasn't for him for a few years. This is nitpicking to me.

The point is the Cowboys just didn't understand that a pass rusher by himself is at best window dressing on a defense missing a defensive core. CB's similar story.

But they took Ware's success as a license to lazily let the defense atrophy and take stupid flier risks here and there along with some shiny CB's to put lipstick on a pig.

Guaranteed there would have been some other cornerback to team with their "lockdown" franchise guys Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr had Romo not threatened to walk forcing them to take Frederick.

In retrospect, think of the defenses he played on. Had Parcells stuck around, we might have seen something different.

His postseason stats as a Bronco indicate that. 5 playoff games as Cowboy, 3 games as Bronco

Sacks:
Cowboy - 4.0
Bronco - 3.5

QB Hits:
Cowboy - 6.0
Bronco - 12.0

TFL:
Cowboy - 4
Bronco - 4

I may have inserted my interpretation of what he threatened, but it was reported that Romo spoke with the Joneses after the 2012 season regarding the pass protection

Jones loved him some Costa.

The fact he finally got cut and we drafted Frederick has nothing to do with a possible Romo tantrum.
Is it a reach to assume Romo wasn’t all in on Costa? And maybe voiced as much to uncle Jer.

With respect to their legacy, out of Meredith, White and Romo, if you could gift one Super Bowl win, who would you choose?

Generally I don't care which, any of those teams would have been cool to get a super bowl from.

But I would probably say Romo because I wasn't alive during the Meredith years, and I was young during White's years so you don't have the same perspective and appreciation when you're young. Also in the White years there was a sense of entitlement given it was part of 20 straight winning seasons with like 18 playoff appearances and 5 super bowl appearances.

So in the Romo years after a long drought and being an adult on top of that, I think I'd appreciate it more just based on the timing of it.
