Wait, did the USFL play already? I thought that was today.

Reading about all their goofy rules, I'm kind of cooling on the league.

That's what I thought, I was going off booze's tweet about the first down. There aren't any fans in the stands there, but... it is the USFL.

If Nancy Pelosi died today, I'd say the same if somebody wrote shit like that announcing her death. Doesn't make her any less of a piece of shit, but you just don't do that. Doing so announces to the world that YOU are a piece of shit.
 
A lot of NFL players are calling Schefter out.

Lamar Jackson has a fairly reserved personality. So you know you're a piece of shit when even he takes time to call you out.

Wow. Gil was really butt hurt that he didn't listen to him on staying in school.

But yeah, old guys just told it like it was. Should Gil have said that, no, but should his whole life be cancelled like it will be? No to that also. But it probably will be. I bet he's fired by tomorrow.

Dez made a lot of good points over the years but they were dismissed because it was Dez.

I've noticed that he's doing more with his life than I thought he would in retirement and he's got a lot of former and current players in his corner.

Good for him. I always liked Dez and people can criticize him all they want for the type of personality that he had, but imagine growing up the way that guy did. The fact that he appears to be a decent human being despite such a horrible upbringing says a lot about the guy.

And he always called out both the media and the NFL for their shitty handling of players and he's been right most of the time.

As a society we have a bad habit if dismissing stuff purely because of who the messenger is.
 
I may be locked in to NFL Network for the rest of the day. They're playing a nice mixture of random games today.

An old Chargers/Chiefs game from 2002 is currently airing. Earlier it was Bears/Vikings from 2008.

It's a nice changeup from their normal offseason programming routine where they constantly replay the same 10-15 games from the prior season. It's good to see them dig a little deeper into the archives and mix in some of these other games.
