Cowboys Nostalgia Thread

For as much as Randy White and Howley have done for #54, it’s been destroyed by Bobby Carpenter and Jaylon Smith
And if Lamb doesn't get his shit together, he is a new Antonio Bryant.

I mean Lamb has already done more for Dallas than Antonio Bryant ever did. I think that's kind of a harsh comparison. Of course I think Antonio Bryant was a pretty talented player, he was just Antonio Brown level crazy from the start.

I love CeeDee, but he needs to get those drops under control. Thats infuriating.

What a fucking pass....

@Iamtdg

Notice something there? What does the lighting tell you?

NOON GAME. BITCH!

Noon games are the best.

Have we even had a legit deep threat-used as a deep threat- since JJ and Harper were here?

My greatest memories of the Cowboys is when Randy White held 3 camps for me.....when Larry Brown, Everson Walls, George Teague, Solomon Paige and other came to my Ranch for a BBQ....Getting invited by Wade Phillips to have some beers with him, Nick Saban, Mack Brown and Tommy Tuberville. Also, have a great conversation with Jerry Jones........great memories.
Where’s the ranch located?

Galloway (despite being a shrimp) was supposed to be. I guess Rocket and James McKnight, too.

They were really used like Harper though. Maybe Ismail.

I always thought Galloway was unfairly criticized for his time in Dallas.

He played 1 game with Aikman then spent his next 3 seasons playing with Quincy, Anthony Wright, Clint Stoerner, Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, then Quincy Carter again.

When he left Dallas, he played quite well for Tampa Bay as he was still very fast and I think he would have been good for us had he gotten a chance to play with a good QB.

I remember how pathetic it was when those guys tried to hit Galloway deep and he’d have to literally pull up on his route and turn back to defend a possible pick.

I know a lot of players have been lauded for their speed. Most recently, Tyreek Hill and before him, Devin Hester.

But I never saw anybody look faster on a football field than Deion Sanders.

It is remarkable how the guy was able to run past everybody while rarely going his top speed for the entirety of the run. There were times where he would actually decelerate when there was still a guy in front of him because he knew that the angle and pace he was at was already enough to beat the last guy.

Just a remarkable athlete.

Because so many of you people flooded my inbox asking this question...How many of Emmitt Smith's TD runs were so-and-so yards long?

Just from 1990-1996, Emmitt scored 108 rushing TDs.
1 Yard = 28 TDs (26%)
2 Yards = 11 (10%)
3 Yards = 14 (13%)
4 Yards = 14 (13%)
5-9 Yards = 17 (16%)
10-19 Yards = 9 (8%)
20-29 Yards = 5 (5%)
30-39 Yards = 4 (4%)
40-59 Yards = 1 (1%)
60+ Yards = 5 (5%)

There's no context to this for now, it's just a random collection of stats. Maybe I'll someday compare this other Hall of Fame RBs. No, I'm not going to see how many Michael Irvin catches were downed inside the 5-yard line.

I liked to say he was a thoroughbred. He could elude anyone in the open field.

And his acceleration was incredible. He could go from zero to 60 in a heartbeat. Which helped him close passing windows amazingly quickly.
