Cowboys Nostalgia Thread

The Playmaker's only game in Miami. He balled out.

Yeah, right off the bat the guy was ready.

Tore Terrell Buckley a new one just like he did when the guy was in Green Bay.

:lol

The Playmaker will always be my favorite Cowboy.

I always thought Sanders was a better pure rushing RB while Emmitt was a better all around football RB.
Sanders was electric with the ball, Emmitt more working man-like.

Barry was more exciting but not reliable. If you’d watch a Lions game, he’d carry the ball 20 times but over half would lose yardage or net a one yard game. It’d put his offense behind the sticks a lot.

But he’d also break a couple for twenty - sixty yards.

Exciting plays that sports center would highlight.

At the end of the day his stat like would look impressive but his team would lose.

Hard to win games when your team is constantly in third and 8 over and over again.

some would say it had much to do with his shite oline.

Lomas Brown and Kevin Glover two of the best at their position during that time.

Everyone acts like emmitt had the greatest offensive line in front of him but how many of them are in the hall? His best one was Larry Allen who came here in 1994, after Emmitt had already won rushing titles, season and super bowl mvp’s.

newton and others were journeymen cast offs prior to Emmitt.

The Barry Sanders oline excuse falls flat for me because Barry’s issue was he was an instinctual rusher who didn’t follow blocks. Many of his losses was him trying to freelance in the backfield instead of follow where the run was supposed to go.

In an early release, one player drafted in the 3rd and the rest late rounders or FAs. How did these dudes do it?

Mark Stepnoski - drafted third round
Kevin Gogan
John Gesek
Mark Tuinei
Nate Newton

I dunno how they crafted that group but adding Allen and Williams made it fierce. I have yet to see a back go untouched as often as Smith did sometimes. Not a call out on him as he had the vision to make it work.

A combination of Erik Williams being underrated out of school plus good steroids and teamwork

I got into arguments with goldenster95 on the forums after the redskins signed Brandon Noble for big money. He thought for sure he stole a great player from us. 😂😂😂

Fucking Williams had such a nasty streak. I remember him head slapping the shit outta Reggie White in that playoff game. He literally took the fight outta White by the end of the game.

He was nasty. Hit White with a fist to the throat, poke him in the eye, leg whipped him, you name it. And he really got under his skin.

I also remember him abusing Eagle DE William Fuller. He made him his prison bitch.

Pushed Ted Washington in the back of the shoulder so hard he broke Washington's leg when he tried to stop his own momentum.

I really enjoyed how those lines just decided sometimes, you know what? Fuck this guy and took him out.

Washington was one. John Jurkovic was another one. That might have been my favorite.
