The Browns lost the game but Baker Mayfield played well and even outplayed the reigning league MVP.

Alright. @L.T. Fan how do you want to line them up? Alphabetical order, draw straws.....it's your call.

@Rev, @Genghis Khan, @Iamtdg ....any volunteers to be first in line to lick the white poop?

They can’t measure the talent of a QB because if they think the winner or loser rest all on the QB then what’s the point of even having any dialogue. The Browns QB played well enough to win but the Browns defense didn’t. This determined the outcome but don’t expect any different response from them than what they already have spoken. Baker Mayfield is a very solid QB. I know it and that’s all that matters.

If you can’t see that Mayfield is a good QB because of an incident you still remember from his early college days then what the point?

Correct.

No changing the rules just because he went to school at OU.
I stated DAK is a good QB. But the team was still losing when he played and that was in response to idea that everything is on the QBs w/l record. It is a fact that I have stated several times that the QB can’t be measured this way because wins and losses is a team effort. Nor can they be measured by SB wins for the same reason.

I agree with keeping him on for at least another year, primarily because he has a strong track record of success.

But the reality is, it's never "ridiculous" to think about a new HC when the team is sitting at 4-9 and honestly is fortunate it isn't worse (Ex. the Atlanta game).

Edit: and as a corollary, we should certainly be replacing the defensive staff.

I'm fine with McCarthy coming back but he needs to get a handle on Fassel if Fassel is indeed returning.

However Mike Nolan and Scott McCurley need to be replaced.

this season is absolutely a bottom 5'er for the franchise. Even at that, I think you have to give McCarthy at least another year. There are so many asterisks to this season, it's hard to say what might be our record without all the ways this roster has been gutted. Give MM a healthy (at least w ZMartin) oline and a better defense overall. Then we decide.

Yeah, I read your first reply. But thanks for saying the same thing. Again.

So does Linguist and Al Harris. The whole D staff must go.
The LBs are a bigger issue than the secondary, IMO.

Every LB on the roster looks completely unaware of their keys and responsibilities. That's why I singled out McCurley.

And the line has its own problems. It’s widespread

This was a slugfest, though. You could see both teams getting physical but the offenses were focused to the point it didn't matter as much. Best kind of game, really.

Last team with time to drive was going to win.
