Yeah....he was a nice flyer on an attempt to rehab a blue chip player and it was cool to watch him come back and try to make a go at it, but he’s not smooth and dynamic like he was was pre injury.
A good GM sucks it up, says he thought Jaylon would be able to keep improving and that’s why he got his deal but the play hasn’t equaled the deal. That’s not Jerruh though. And that’s why his team continues to underperform despite its talented roster year after year.

I like Sean Lee. I think he could make a really good coach some day. Probably time for him to hang up the cleats though.

Off the ball LBer shouldn't be that hard to fill though. It's probably one of the least impactful positions in the NFL. Much like RB It's not a position that should require a top 10 pick to find a good one. Yet that may be exactly what we have to do. Just give me a guy who can run and tackle. And put him next to LVE who can do everything well.

Ya know, Lee should have some decent mileage remaining in his wheels. He’s been sidelined so much, his legs can carry him I’d say at least one more year

It’s time for the player Lee to become the coach Lee. It’s just time. He was great to watch but I can’t unsee the last couple years when he was on the field getting roasted in the passing game. He just doesn’t have the speed and mobility anymore that made him great.

All I know is the defense has only been good this season in the games Lee played.

People seem to want to give LVE a lot of credit for the improvement. Yet they still were garbage the first game LVE came back - when they were still without Lee. Coincidence?

Keep Lee, and let him transition slowly from on the field mentor for LVE to coach if he wants. But his defensive football acumen is strong. ill never forget the image of Lee correcting one of the coaches during a game. He knew the D better than the coach.

We need to recoup our financial investment as well; it certainly hasnt been on the field with Lee.

Didn't Lee play like one snap in one of those games?

Lee brings something to the team but it's not his on field performance.

He might not be the same physically, but his mind is still there. And you can pretty clearly see players are lined up and in their correct assignments better when he's on the field. Jaylon Smith in particular.

I think Lee is a guy who would make a great coach. I love him on my sidelines. I think LVE is the guy who leads the defense though. But I definitely agree that Lee is one smart dude that actually knows what the fuck is going on. Jaylon is off in his own world.

Well, Lee hasn't been good in coverage since 2015, but he's still helpful against the run.

I think LVE can benefit greatly from Lee's presence, even on the field.

I think a thoughtful usage of Lee can be good for this defense. Lee isn't in peak form, but I think he's every bit the player (esp mentally) that Smith is.

Smith is in exactly the wrong atmosphere he needs to reach his potential.

He needs to be in New England where his coaches and teammates will hold him accountable and he'll either learn how to be a disciplined pro or get cut.

So what are you saying? A meddling owner who enables mediocrity due to the size of the check he writes isn't the best atmosphere?

That refusal by Judge not to go for it on that 4th & 1 in the first half is coming back home to roost.

God damn, I miss those days. Aikman had such a sweet touch and Irving was a damn vacuum cleaner.
are you being sarcastic re: Irvin(g)? Cause if you said Irvin(g) on purpose, I am slightly concerned.

Yes, it was on purpose.

Irvin is still probably my favorite cowboy ever. Some of those catches were insane. Both guys are underrated historically. Aikman was deadly precise.

it was the triplets. They all fed off one another. Although Michael was holdover from Landry's last team.

Of the "non-QB friendly era" quarterbacks, Aikman was one of the best in accuracy. Only Young, Montana, and Favre* were higher. 61% completion rate was pretty darn good for that era.
