I’m not afraid of Seattle’s defense at all.

And Russell Wilson can shove his perfect 9-0 TD to INT ratio over two games.

No one stays perfect for long
 
Still think that deep shot on 3rd and 1 when a run basically ends the game was retardation.

No you need to score one and get a two point conversion. If that 2 point conversion fails you lose. Because you're not conserving time for 2 scores.

Why do you assume the 2 point conversion works later but not earlier? Again, makes no sense to wait. You just found out your two point conversion will fail earlier rather than later. The odds of converting that 2 pointer don't go up by waiting. Gives you more time to deal with the clock. We literally would have lost today if we had waited. Today is a flawless example of why it was the right choice.

It's statistically better to do it earlier. No question about it.
 
Bottom line is that we should expect Wilson to tear this defense a new one.
But their defense can be had, too.
I'm not particularly impressed with their secondary and our trio of receivers should feast so long as the OL keeps Dak clean.
Another slow start could sink us, though.
I expect that we will live by the Dak or die by the Dak again.
Hope Tyron is back and ready to go.

The play should have worked but it failed due to a poor throw, but it was still the right call given the situation that they were in.

I can even live with the second fake punt because they were also in a desperate situation there, but it's alarming that someone thought what amounted to a QB sneak was the right call when they needed 5 yards, not 1 or 2.

If you're gonna do that, might as well leave the offense out on the field.

And then we have the horrible decision to go for two when they did. As I alluded to before, just because the Cowboys found a way to get a miracle win doesn't mean the odds and stats for the types of situations they were in aren't true.

And too often over the past two weeks they have chosen to select the option that put them at the worst odds for success.

In the position they were in at that point in the game, Mike McCarthy basically put the nail in his own team's coffin by choosing to go for two there and failing. You could see it in the players' faces that they thought it was over. You absolutely do not and cannot end your own chances of winning at that point of the game.

You have to give your team hope down to the very last second that the game can still be won. By making that awful call there, he took a team that would have gone into that next drive doing all that they could to get one more stop in hopes of tying the game and instead created a situation where most of his team probably thought the game was over.

That cannot happen.

What scares me about today is that there didn't really appear to be any method to the madness and it seemed like they were experimenting and just trying shit out just to do it.

I really hope that's not what happened but the coaching performance over the first two weeks definitely leaves me a little concerned and that was the last thing I thought I would have to worry about with this particular team.

Going for two when they did wasn’t a bad move. It was a good move. You have to get it anyway, why wait and only do it at the end and only ge one shot when you can do it and get two shots at it? Belichick just did the same thing in this game against the Seahawks but no one is giving him a hard time. i think it was a good call.

Ya the decision shows that Mike McCarthy's dedications to analytics is legit. Didn't like it at the time but it was great. Nice to have a coach who makes the right move in these situations
 
It may have been mentioned already but I was really impressed by Dalton Schultz's bounce back game. His blocking was still iffy but he more than made up for it with his presence in the passing game with his 9 receptions for 88 yards and 1 TD.

That was the most production we've received from the TE position since Blake Jarwin's 2018 week 17 game vs the Giants where he went off for 7, 117, and 3 TDs.

It's been pretty rare for Cowboys TEs to impact the game in the manner that Schultz did yesterday. The last few years have mostly been the 30 - 55 yard performances mostly attributed to Jason Witten.
 
The pass rush has been so bad that I honestly can't give an honest assessment on the state of our secondary play. On paper the Falcons and Rams have OLs that probably rank in the bottom half of the league yet the Cowboys barely laid a finger on either of their QBs.

And it's not just the sack numbers. They aren't even generating hurries.

Despite all that I thought Diggs took another step forward. He missed another INT but unlike most of the other CBs on our roster he's generally aware of the ball's location in the air. So he attacks the ball rather than resorting to panic flailing like we've seen from most CBs that we've had on the back end of our defenses.
