2020 Draft Weekend Chatter Thread...

I wonder at what point the Cowboys sat up and seriously started discussing that they had a shot at Lamb. I'll bet it was when the Raiders took Ruggs.
Had to have been. If that pick had been Jeudy surely they would have lost all hope that Lamb could fall. Thanks, Al! Err, I mean, Mayock!

That is exactly what McCarthy said last night when someone asked that question.

I said that right when the pick was made. That the ghost of Al had called down. If he had still been calling the shots, that pick wouldn't have surprised me at all. In fact, I would have expected it. But I would have bet money, knowing they needed a WR and with Mayock and Gruden calling the shots, that they were taking Lamb. Or even possibly Jeudy.

Just goes to show that the fans really don't know shit when it comes to "knowing" what teams will do.

I didn't watch any of the pressers last night. Waaaay too many beers and crown royal. I'll have to catch up on them.

Was scared drinking leading up to pick 17 to help soften the blow, then celebration pounding afterwards.

I was scared drinking so hard that I had to pass out as soon as our pick passed. Of course, I had been drinking since 1:30. :unsure

I figured you had left just because you had ran out of whining jokes.

Honestly I'm usually in bed by then but I was sort of jacked up so I listened to it on the Ticket. :unsure

I hate to say this, but even Jerry and Stephen sounded more lucid than normal. I know I hated Garrett so maybe I'm biased, but I really wonder if McCarthy isn't an even better influence on everything than I thought.

Then taking a WR in the first is a really good indication of McCarthy's influence.

Yea I bet on Lamb being the top WR taken so that was nice, made up for it elsewhere though.

If Kinlaw had been available as well, I wonder what the decision would have been.

I'm going to set the bar incredibly low for myself tonight.

If the Cowboys draft a player who can at least dress out on game day, I'm going to consider that a win.

Hopefully the Taco & Hill picks have taught them a hard lesson about hand waving concerns about players with work ethic issues.

Suck it Philadelphia.

The funny thing is, them winning the division screwed them out of Lamb.

The Cowboys' skill position player's age:

Dak Prescott 26
Ezekiel Elliot 24
Tony Pollard 22
Amari Cooper 25
Michael Gallup 24
CeeDee Lamb 21
Blake Jarwin 25

I'd say from today through the next few years we can focus mostly defense. :towel
