Jerry in tough love mode
You're fucking high if you think ANY team would agree to that. This isn't Madden. Put down your controller.we should have negotiated that if the 1st rounder the Jets received was in the top ten, we’d get their 2nd round pick in exchange.
Not individual positions, but as impactful parts of the whole. We wouldn't have traded for Quinnen had we not traded Parsons away.Sorry, but this makes zero sense. The two play different positions so getting rid of Parsons didn't open up a hole that Quinnen filled. Quinnen plays NT and Parsons is an EDGE, so the whole premise of the trades being somehow linked is silly at best. You can argue you don't like the Quinnen trade, but that has nothing to do with the Parsons trade.
There are ways to quantify the value of the picks traded, and Dallas should have tried to do that. Conditional trades happen all the time. You're fucking high if you think ANY team would agree to that. This isn't Madden. Put down your controller.
Not in the fantasy-land scenario you were suggesting. There are ways to quantify the value of the picks traded, and Dallas should have tried to do that. Conditional trades happen all the time.

And I don't dislike the Quinnen trade, it was fine, so long as the 1st round pick we trade away is not a top ten pick
Calling a legal conditional trade "fantasy land" is a bit much, considering there is precedent, also with the Jets no less from the Brett Favre trade. Not in the fantasy-land scenario you were suggesting.
Doesn't matter. It isn't the players that are patient zero. The infection starts at the very top.
