He failed physicals for the Texans and then just last week with the Seahawks.

I will say, I'm usually a big believer in the vibe check. The team had terrible vibes heading into last year and it was easy to see disaster coming.

It was the opposite this year. A strong draft, an active free agency, overall health, and no real competitor in the East to fear.

This should have been a cakewalk to a division crown.

That's terrible coaching. But I'm surprised how bad it's been. This year didn't feel like an approaching train wreck.

You can look back at the personnel last year and see why they were so bad. This year, I don't get it. They are better at every level. The results are damn near worse.

Just dreaming for a minute... Seriously doubt this happens, all those disclaimers.

But is there a way, really, we could get Todd Bowles as DC next year? Say the offense looks better the rest of the year like it probably will but the defense stays a disaster, or close enough. Bowles does have the former tie as a Parcells assistant, which Jerry always loves, and he probably will be fired after the year.

Or is there even a path for a different HC (obviously better) and Bowles? Tomlin and Bowles? Someone else?

I actually would take him, but I doubt Jerry could sell that if he'd just been fired.

As always, the Jerry Curve lowers expectations. Even if another Ben Johnson were out there, I seriously doubt Jerry would hire him.
