I think that's good? :unsure

Easily the biggest steal of that draft. Grown damn man.
Well, consider Justin Jefferson was taken after Ruggs, Jeudy, Lamb, and Reagor, and ahead of Aiyuk so he might have technically been a bigger steal.

Jefferson has 745 more yards than Lamb, 8659 to 7914, 1 less TD, 43 to 44, with one more game started, 94 to 93.

Devil's Advocating for Jefferson, he's produced despite the Vikes having started Kirk Cousins (57), Sam Darnold (17), JJ McCarthy(10), Carson Wentz (5), Kyler Murray(4), Joshua Dobbs(4), Nick Mullens (3), Jaren Hall (2), Max Brosmer (2), and Sean Mannion(1) at QB in the time he's been there.

Lamb has had Dak Prescott (80) Cooper Rush (14), Andy Dalton (9), Garrett Gilbert(1), and Ben DiNucci (1).

That remarkable chemistry with Prescott has been a big factor, playoff games asides-- Still Jefferson has produced equal or better statistically.

Kinda strange that you'd lessen Lamb's impact because he has Dak as his QB, yet other times love to throw out the Dink and Dak moniker.

I was thinking the same. Dak has gotten way more hate over the years then he deserves by some fans on here.

Funny how that works, for years the argument was, Dak can't anticipate, he can't throw guys open, he has to have elite weapons. Guys have to be wide open to get the ball.

But then when we talk about Lamb, well he had Dak throwing him the ball. You mean the same QB with all those issues?

We're long past the days of Dink and Dak.

Dak's only flaw now is not regularly throwing his guys open or trying more contested throws.

He's always been a safe QB, but the days of Dink and Dak were when it was extremely and annoyingly so.

My opinion on him (and yes, I've been harsh on him at times) really hasn't changed. I think he's a top 8-12 qb who is going to win a lot of games but struggle against better competition.

It's not just Dak, but continuity with one guy for all those games. That's a lot relative to what Jefferson's been dealing with.

And no one's saying Dak is trash, but not throwing guys open is an objective gap in his game. No one is perfect, but he's still very good and played with Lamb for years.

Are you saying Dak's perfect, then?

Every QB needs weapons, period, or they're going to struggle. Tom Brady in 2006 -- Troy Brown and Reche Caldwell-- I mean come on. But he still made the fing AFC Championship game.

Then he gets Randy Moss and Wes Welker-- holy shit.

Similarly every great WR needs help getting him the football. When you have both, that's when you usually see extended greatness.

Jefferson never had the other half, yet has met or exceeded Lamb's performance.

Well, we had to trade for Cooper because he couldn't elevate the guys we opened the season with in '18.

This is true. But there is a pretty wide gap between a good receiver corp, and the shit we put out on the field before Cooper. I think Dak has made a number of players careers better than they would have been with another team. But I also concede that he can't play good with really bad weapons. But part of that has always been our offensive play design. We don't design guys open as much as we expect Dak to attack whatever area the defense is basically giving him. They are totally different concepts. But the schemes we run kind of rely on WR's who can beat 1 on 1 coverage. Some teams like the 49ers heavily use scheme, motion and rub routes to basically scheme guys open to get RAC.

That's where I had him too but I think he's better than that now.

I think he's legit top 5 now.

He is today where I thought Romo was in 2014 -- that point where everything finally clicks.

He's been fantastic to watch this season.

I don't agree that he's made it to 2014 Romo levels, but he has improved and makes far fewer mistakes. I want to see it against good defenses first.

Who?

Like you said, Dak takes what the defense gives him, so which non-TE has he actually made better than they would have been otherwise?

Turpin, Tolbert, Ferguson, Michael Gallup, Dalton Schultz.

Hell, even Randall Cobb had a career resurgence for one year when he had Dak throwing him the ball. Anyway, that's just a few. I'm sure there are more guys who had some of the best years of their careers here before leaving and never being that productive again.

Honestly even look at Pickens. He was a career 900 yard receiver with Pitt. Gets with Dak and he has 1400 yards and destroys his career bests.

Yeah, Romo was incredibly efficient, but Dak has him on health for sure.

In 2014 Romo had three very bad games where his back was injured and his performances reflected this. Season opener, broken vertebrae vs Washington, stiff Thanksgiving Day vs Philly.

If you count the greatness he exhibited, you also have to count these three bad games and the game missed to the broken vertebrae (which we also lost).

What's remarkable is his net 113+ passer rating even after averaging in those bad games, and the fact we won every other game until the Packers game.

Romo that year could place the ball exactly in his RB's hands at a distance almost like a handoff. It meant a lot more catching the ball running into open space.

That accuracy was definitely the best of his career.

Dak is also much better now than he was in 2018 when he was in his 3rd year in the league. I think it was true back then that he couldn't elevate his receivers but I don't think it's true anymore.

He is mentally world's ahead. I think his accuracy has gotten way better over the years as well.

The only thing that has dropped off is his mobility. Not that he is immobile or was ever a big scrambling QB. But he is a perfect example that a QB can keep getting better long into their career as long as their throwing arm doesn't get jacked up.
