2026 Season | Week 3 | Gameday Chatter Thread | Ravens @ Cowboys (Rio) | 09/27/2026

This game showed the good and bad with Ben Johnson, who did not even get an interview for the Dallas job.

he got hammered for going for it on 4th instead of taking the 3 early in the game
You are going to have that killer mentality with him and it is a good and bad thing. When he fails, he will be called a dumb ass.

If the worst thing you can say is about him is the aggression, then you got yourselves an impactful coach versus some dork who pisses down his leg in tense situations.

provided you don't approach Dan Campbell levels of reckless idiocy
I dunno, Campbell had the foresight to hire Johnson. That is the bad part.

We do not have an team identity. We are not especially tough, nor are we especially smart or creative.

To me, coaching always matters. You could have to most talented dork fucking things up and it is indeed possible to make even schlubs look competent if you have an advantage with the head coach and staff.

Still kicked a darling team's ass with a 3rd string QB...

80% of the teams have 8-8 talent. Coaching can make a huge difference for those teams. No way was Seattle the most talented team last season. But they had one of the best coaching staffs.

If the staff is starting with technical issues already, the times of bullshit are ready to roll.

The fact that they are trotting out the communication issue excuse again is infuriating. By week three, it’s your fault if you don’t have that under control. I don’t care if BS has to run out there and tell the huddle the play.

To me that’s a worse indictment on the coaching, than any of his “look how smart I am” playcalls.

It’s basic stuff.

This is the NFL in a nutshell, and explains why we haven't done shit in 30 years.
If I were Goof Son, I would remind you that we hired coaches like Bill Parcells and Mike McCarthy but forget that the bullshit has been continuing.

It's two pronged, the HC stuff and the dumbass environment Jerry fosters.

And we had some of our absolute best teams in the last 20+ years under those two (I'm counting 2007 since Parcells built the whole roster), they just weren't able to get over the hump in the end. 2007 and 2021-23 were definitely all Super Bowl caliber teams for the most part, even with our flawed defenses under Quinn.

And Tennessee almost and should have beaten them the week before with the equivalent of a third string QB.

They were also a 2 pt conversion away from being tied with the Shitskins at home with about two minutes left, a team we railroaded.

This is why I'm so disgusted with Schottenheimer, we should be running away with this division by about early December.
