Agreed. Put that team anywhere but Houston and I think we win. But yeah, this a “frothing at the mouth” kind of game for them, and it always seems like we don’t fare well in those games.

There's all the elite DT's in the league, you guys need to chill with this Quinnen talk just because some Twitter jackass posted a clip of a bad play. He hasn't been dominant by any means, but if you watch the all-22 you'll see he was the guy getting the most consistent pressure yesterday and against 90% of other QB's he'd have gotten credit for ruining 2-3 plays, probably one sack or a half sack, on top of the TFL on the first drive.

If he's sitting on 0 sacks in another month or so then complain.

Can we get their run defense grades?

I don't expect Quinnen to get 8-10 sacks (though as an "elite DT" getting 8 would be nice).

But with him and Clark I need to see the run defense be stout.

I assume you mean according to PFF, which I take with a massive grain of salt, but still. I have access to a tool that some NFL teams use that has PFF grades built in, but they're way different from what I get out of a google search for some reason, at any rate the first "grade" is from the tool and the second is from a google/AI search:

Quinnen: 3rd/65th
Derrick Brown: 96th/55th
Chris Jones: Not listed for some reason, but according to google/AI his grade is lower than Carter's, so at least in the 80's if not lower
Jalen Carter: 97th/77th
Leonard Williams: 16th/4th
Jeffery Simmons: 52nd/27th

I just think it's too early to read too much in to his play, these grades, stats or whatever else. I've seen him make plenty of plays with the FF against New York, the TFL against Washington, plus several pressures against Washington that Daniels escaped from because there was nobody else closing him down, and I also think he's not quite 100% because he was noticeably slow to get up a few times in the last game.

But we'll see, I'm not saying he's been great because he hasn't, I'm just saying it's way too early and very unwarranted to be freaking out over him because he looked like shit for a few plays.

My guess is that's true.

I'll also be honest, players have looked gassed to me so far this year. I know the Cowboys wanted to "run" after the Rams scrimmage. Which amounted to a light jog that a 300 pound 60 year old woman does to lose weight but I don't think these guys are really in peak shape. I've said it before about Barham and not looking like he is in the physical condition to play 100% of the snaps on defense (Hence the puking video). But I think it looks a little true about Clark and Williams. These guys will work there way into form but playing a football game is so much more exhausting than practice. The pace is just way different. And of course sitting all of preseason didn't help these guys get in playing shape.

Anyway, I think Williams will work his way through it. I expect to see peak Williams before the season is over.
