He has done things to suggest he is. I’ve seen him play in Dallas. He’s better than the scrubs at the bottom of our roster by a significant margin.
 
I usually can’t stand him but this is a pretty interesting breakdown.

I mean I'm not really stressing. He is a run stopping 3-4 DE with 6 career sacks in 10 years of NFL service.

He is functional and even a good run stopper. But my hope is that LT Overton would pass him on the depth chart anyway. Bullard being out just means we have one less big body on the D-line to stop the run. Not sure I really know how to quantify that loss. Maybe that opens the door for Toia, Withers or Gilliam to make the roster.

I will never understand this concept. The NFL has neutered the returns games so much that special teams isn't overly relevant except for punter and kicker. Does some yeehaw special teams guy (Non punter, kicker, long snapper) really play that much better than a random replacement on the roster that it justifies a spot on the roster to only play special teams?

It seems like the impact of these types of ace special teams guys is so minimal the way the game is played now days. I'll never understand it. It's like some coaches think this is the 90's still.

Our ST's were shit last year and it hurt us in a few games, especially Detroit. Bell is also passable if need be playing a few snaps on defense, he's gotten reps with the first team throughout camp.
