2026 Cowboys Preseason Week 1 Gameday Chatter Thread | Cowboys @ Seahawks | 08/15/2026

I didn't say he could do it in the NFL. My original statement was very clear. "He didn't do that in college, at all" replying to Booze saying he was leaving late. I don't believe I even once said or even implied it is going to translate to the NFL.
This was the prime criticism of Lawrence, that if you spliced his best plays together he looked really, really good, but he was not consistently a dangerous pass rusher over the course of his career or even over a game.

We’ll see, but I’m treating anything this year as a bonus and am expecting nothing.

Please show me this. His most consistent criticism was his run defense and not being able to shed blocks consistently. I want to see the scouting reports that said he couldn't maintain a get off consistently. He needed to develop more pass rush techniques. Nothing about him not being able to get off the ball quickly.

You can't invoke Mazi, though. All Mazi had was the weight room feats and bounding up stairs. He wasn't smart, didn't like football, and had no confidence or desire. Lawrence has none of those problems.

He’s not even a young player anymore, he’s fucking 28. We took a 25 year old rookie and he still has done nothing.

Would have been amazing to come out of that draft with Sam LaPorta and OCyrus Torrence instead.

Most of us wanted Kraft if we went TE in the 2nd, who is obviously a million miles better.

It was just a completely horrendous lock from every angle.

That’s fair, but when I saw the average get off, Mazi was the first thing that popped into my head

I don't even like Davis but I have to admit he looks pretty good running the ball at times.

He does but I also think in the second half the Seattle run defense was not holding running lanes well at all. Which happens sometimes with a bunch of third and fourth string guys out there.

Davis is sort of old reliable that you put on the practice squad but know he can be promoted and give you 4 ypc without much concern. He won't wow you but he won't suck either.

Israel ran well too against those scrubs. So I need a little more sample size.

I think that's definitely something we should keep in mind before anointing Davis.

Although he was solid in the regular season last year.
