I'm going to CSB you guys again, and I've probably told this before, but years ago I was with my mom and dad driving through the Wichita Mountains in Oklahoma where there are buffalo just wandering around and sometimes you have to stop the car and wait for them to get out of the road. I was in the back seat with my dog, the chocolate lab. My window was maybe half open and there was a buffalo just off the shoulder kind of looking at us.
All of a sudden my dog jumps out of the window and sort of gets between me and this huge bison that's not even ten feet from the car. I open the door as fast as I can and fortunately I get her to jump back in the car pretty quickly. We were both very lucky that bison just stood there staring like we were a couple of dumbasses, because it could have easily gored or stomped both of us to bits without blinking an eye.
TLDR: It's amazing what our dogs will do to protect us even from animals that are far bigger and stronger than they are.
Damn, that's sad but awesome at the same time.My in-laws blue heeler gave up his life to protect my sister in law when she was a child. He tried to block the UPS truck that was backing up and my S- in law was in the path. The dog was barking at itand trying to bite the tires but wouldn't get out of the way.
I wasnt around that dog very often and the family was a little worried how he would react with me but I never had an issue with him. We got along splendidly right off the bat. I just had to call his name first and he would come running to me.
They get attached to their person and that was my sister in law. He was a rescue as well so that may have had some hand in it as well. I had one for a long time and she wasnt aggressive but she would stand between whatever she felt was trying to get at me. That happened to be a bag on the floor that was being blown a bit by the ceiling fan and making a noise. Her hackles were raised and she was growling. LoL.Damn, that's sad but awesome at the same time.
Are blue heelers aggressive and that's why they were worried? I've only been around them a couple of times but didn't realize that.
When I was a kid my neighbors across the street had three of them, Blue, Queenie and Spot (their pup). I was scared to death of them... I saw them knock a cat off their fence and tear that thing up and I wanted nothing to do with that shitDamn, that's sad but awesome at the same time.
