Diversity. You can't watch something that includes all races.
We do that with every other sport we watch. Hell, like 60% of the MLB is from a South American country or Puerto Rico. WTF makes soccer any different?

I have never understood the sport, although I have deep soccer hooligan relatives back in my mom’s side.

The USA making short work of Paraguay.

Whoa, that's freaky, we were just talking about that. Hell, I even went into the gross hypocrisy of the left when they say we misappropriate a culture. She just stared at me like I was speaking Vulcan. :lol

Hydration break? In soccer? WTF is that all about? Is that new?

It's just the TV companies and maybe FIFA creating a contrived marketing opportunity, that doesn't happen anywhere else really unless it's legitimately like 90+.
I didn't think I had ever seen it before. I'm no soccer savant, but I have watched quite a bit of it.

Yeah, started at the Qatar WC 4 years ago and now they do it whenever the heat & humidity reach a certain level.

There's honestly no need to have done it last night in LA but I'm guessing they're just trying to stay consistent because they're definitely going to have to do it in other matches here in the US.

Yeah.... And this too.

Hence why they did it when it wasn't necessary in the pleasant southern California weather last night.
