Extending Pickens

Rapaport just reported he doesn't think a trade is happening and the Cowboys do want to keep him.

So why sign this now...

It’s extremely weird timing.

Then again let’s not put it past our front office that they were all just on vacation on a yacht in the Caribbean for 3 months and they just decided to get back and get down to business about 36 hours ago.

I mean it's a nice theory. Just feels like he could do that on Monday when he is there to workout. But I also know that it's possible the Cowboys only do the deal if Tyson is there at 12. If he is gone I could see the Cowboys shifting gears to keep Pickens for now.

If a trade was already worked out, I think the trade would be announced before the draft starts. So right now this is just opening the door.
 
I mean, here’s the thing.

Just take the WR if you love him and keep Pickens too. The offense was great but not greatest show on turf great.

Trade down from 20 and then use every other pick on defense. It will still be way better than last year.
 
What if they need to unload his salary to pay for Crosby...:tippytoe
