2026 Cowboys Draft Chatter Thread

So what don't you like about Anthony Hill? Not disagreeing, just curious.
I like Hill too, just think Rodriguez had a more productive final season and has become more consistent than Hill overall as a result.

Allen is also good, but I wonder at his skill given the supporting cast he has. I've mocked him to Dallas at least a dozen times.

Can't go wrong with either of these players, honestly.

According to the @NoDak theorem I believe the chances of us taking McCoy have now increased from 37% to 62%.

It's now 2021 all over again and we are prolly Hellbent on either corner.

I understand the pressure to put a starter on the field, but it's short-sighted relative to the value a trade down would net given the depth at CB in this draft.

I say let someone else trade up with us to get McCoy.

Given our window with Dak, we need lots of picks mining deep positions like Edge and CB so we can fix the defense come December, not next year.

You know you just put up the @NoDak bat signal...

But one of the beat writers was asked the one player we aren't talking about enough and he said Hood. Could probably trade down from 20 a bit and get him.

Taken him in many mocks. Dude, there is literally no reason to panic and grab a corner at 12. Just too many good ones if you can trade down, which you should be able to do given the OT's, CB's, and WR's that should be available at both 12 and 20.

I'm with you.

I am a little disappoint I haven't seen you advocate to trade down and take Lee Hunter.

Hood is a poor man's McCoy. I honestly think Hood's coverage got exposed a bit at the Senior Bowl. I know there were some positive reports but what I watched wasn't impressive. I don't think I would take Hood until the mid second round. Just my personal opinion and I'm not projecting he will last that long. I just don't see a first round corner in Hood.

I wouldn't in the first or a trade down to a mid second, but would if he falls to 92. We already have a fat boy in the middle and too many needs at LBer and Edge for me to go DT that early.

Dude, I sat down today and tried to get a strong 100 from what and whom and it is hard. This is not an easy class to pick those 100 and feel confident.

Because you don't know 100 players?

In listening to Schottenheimer's PC it seems that they really prefer to keep Bland on the outside, so I'd be kind of surprised if they took McCoy, especially when you add in the injury history which they seem to be afraid of for the first time in forever.

My gut tells me they're hoping Downs falls to fill that role and if not they might look at Thieneman or McNeil-Warren at 20. McCoy seems like he's going to be outside only so I'm skeptical that they'll actually take him at 12.

Makes me think a small trade up to 9 or 10 might be in play if they want to ensure they can snag Styles or Downs.

Yeah I think they lean towards slot/safety as opposed to outside corner. Durant is sort of the backup option on the outside if Revel/Bland sucks or gets hurt. I think Durant can also play the slot but a safety slot guy would provide a ton of utility to where Durant can focus on the outside or you can play the slot/safety guy at safety with Thompson. Just gives us a lot of options in the secondary.
